Now I am not sure how it works here,, but in the other big cities I have lived in organized crime has their fingers in the whole tow impound lot dealio. The high cost of getting your rig back has the built in cost of greasing the proper authorities so said tow company always gets the contracts to tow for the city/police etc. Follow the money its amazing what you may find!
I dont buy the traffic issue at all. Anywhere you put it there will be more traffic especially if the product is good and people show up. At least in the SODO district you already have multiple public transportation choices already built in so if you dont want to drive you have the Sounder trains, the light rail, buses and if you are from the other side of the the water you can catch a ferry. Show me another spot where you have all that already in place.
I am married to to a Lakota woman who grew up on the rez in Rosebud SD and has been a big fan of the ND Fighting Sioux since she was a young girl. She Loves the name and the schools logo and says that it is the best in ALL of sports second only to the Chicago Blackhawks logo.
She does however find it offensive when the "white man" thinks that they should decide what is or is not offensive to native americans.
No just give them participation trophies or ribbons and tell them they are ALL "special" then send them home.
I am sure this would be popular.....for any business in Oregon along the Washington state border.
Get rid of the late start teacher prep or whatever it is called days and shorten the year that way. My parents are both retired school teachers in another state. They retired in 1990 and when I moved here 3 years ago I told them about "late start Wednesdays" they laughed! they never heard of anything so ridiculus.

Grandfather talking to young grandson--- sonny when I was your age the protestesters had to actually know what they were protesing, you know like the Vietnam war or stuff like that and the Mayor din't invite protesters for nuthin! Heck the only invite from the mayor was to the National Guard to come down shoot some tear gas and knock some heads around. Now this stuff I see going out there kinda embarassing like maybe they got protesting and woodstock all mixed up. Heck might as well be protesting the moon comming up at night, makes as much sense.
