I go to movies rarely. Certainly not like I used to. Aside from the price, the incessant noise bothers me. From the moment I sit down until the picture's over. I have come to hate the whole experience and cost. On the other hand, we purchased (with cash we'd saved for 2 years) a 52 inch flat screen led vizio, and it is really like watching a movie in a theater. Overall, a better experience, even. And so much cheaper.

Most of the books on the Polyglot bookshelf have been recorded on Librivox by native speakers. I have Pinocchio, L'inferno, Daudet and Zola's Comédie Humaine on my mp3 player. This is a great addition to learning a language. One of the more difficult things for me living in a monolingual place with few bookstores at the time, was finding literature in original languages.
