Moore intended V to be an attack on Thatcher's United Kingdom(i.e. right winger). The movie was much worse, and turned the story on its head and went out of its way to say Conservatives are Fascist.

Moore also is/was an Anarchist, not a conservative. Much like Murray Rothbard in the US who is the key mind behind the Ron Paul types. i.e. Anarcho-Capitalist, conservatives are not Anarcho-Capitalist.

Alot of younger college age kids are worshipping that movie and not all are liberals. Some are being misguided by the Ron Paul idiots(recall their V for Vendetta fundraiser).

problem is modern Libertarianism is much much different than what the founders really beleived in, the founders were not Isolationist nutballs, not by a long shot as any true account of history will show. They would also not think things like the Patriot Act were taking away our Liberty, given the context its used in. Just see John Adams and thomas jefferson and things they did for National Security, makes the Patriot Act look like child's play.
