I'm glad to hear it's working out for you. The biggest complaint I got from this contest was "we raised all this gold, and got a lesser amount as a reward." It takes a little finesse to explain that the bank needed funds and a reward period was a lot better than simply depositing both teams gold to begin with. Many players forget that you're only asking for junk in their bank or farmed mats to be deposited, not the stockpile of epic BoE gear and gems they had waiting around for their own gold fund.

I'd imagine the answer to that would be to limit the material type you allow to be deposited in the contest. Perhaps limit it to cloth/leather/herbs/ore only? Many ideas to consider, based upon your guild's expectations & needs.

Congrats on the success!

This article spawned after a joking /gkick ended up kicking a wonderful girl out of my life, be it virtual or not. After months of moving on and trying to forget, she randomly contacted me through this site and rekindled our bond. Since, we've chased each other from one game to another hand in hand with a connection twice as strong as the original.

I feel as a society we have moved towards an electronic environment with all the social media platforms and accessibility. This thoroughly brings the "friend next door" into a world-wide range, being only clicks away.

I wish you both luck in your e-relationship struggles. We're only as close as the contact we keep, and life is much to short to shuffle it away with grudges and grievances. Make the most you can, and share your emotions with those who you want to hear them. You'll never know what may arise if you simply put yourself out there.

That's all we can do on this crazy ol internet.

Haha. I didn't want to mention that, of worries I'd sound crazy.... But I do the same thing as well. Kicking is a 5 minute procedure for me.

There has been nothing imposed yet concerning an in-game "Officer chat". What you and your officers need to do, is the following:

1. Develop a name and password for your guild's "officer chat" channel. We'll call it GUILD 1234 **Names can only be 10 characters long, and the password 4 characters long.

2. Create a macro that you and all your officers will use. It should imitate this:
/CreateChannel GUILD 1234
/Delay 1
/JoinChannel GUILD 1234

3. Every time you and your officers log into the game, click that macro button and you will either create or join your predefined private channel.

4. Go into chat options and give the channel a fancy color, and perhaps it's own window.

Enjoy!
(The same works with multi-legion alliances, or perhaps a multi-legion leader channel)

I'll have to check when I get back from work today. You are most likely right, as i have overlooked the hidden arrow. Good catch, sir!

Yes! You are absolutely correct. This did not even cross my mind late last night as I was writing the post. Always be wary of your raid lock outs, your gbank priviledges, and any Ventrilo/Forum access such a member may have. The first thing a kicked player may do is look for ways to disrupt your guild out of spite. Good thinking!

...and enriching experience, not only in virtual worlds with other players who work with you to accomplish like-minded goals, but also serving real world lessons to be used later in life?

Reverse the action in which caused it. Become active in raiding and being an officer. Come online, start getting involved and doing things with the guild. Once you've proven that you are back to "active" status, I'm sure you'll be included a lot more than you are now. Guilds want to gear out the active players, as they are the ones showing up and providing the numbers on the meters. Get yourself into that group, and you'll be back to where you were in no time.
