Glad you are back and hope things are going well. I look forward to hearing more of your perspective on so many different things and your passion for the sport. If you get a chance, I would love to hear/read your take on this year's Boston Marathon and all that surrounded your experiences there, when you are ready. - Jay
I agree. I would never underestimate the the potential of the human spirit. However as many runners have painfully discovered, success favors the prepared body (to extend the Louis Pasteur observation that "Chance favors only the prepared mind").
Great show, continue to enjoy it greatly. When you went on your rant, Stevie, one thing kept going through my head: If all your body knows are 10Ks, then you will get very good at that distance....and that is all. As you and Allan so nicely pointed out, the endurance training the body needs to complete the half-marathon is significantly greater than that for a 10K. Without at least approaching the distance (though I still respectfully contend that the body needs the experience of the full distance in training), the body will not know how to respond when pushed, and may ultimately crash.
Great show and re-cap of the half/full marathon weekend. Congratulations again on your respective times and such great achievements!
Great show once again! Agreed: magnets, bracelets, crystals...all based on pseudo-science and not worth a flip.
Great podcast as always! So who won the Stuffitts from Epi 138 (never heard)?
Great show again Brandon. Hope you and your family make it back to NYC without too many troubles. As a possible podcast topic, I would love to hear your impressions of the running/swimming/biking scene, climate and groups in the Milwaukee area, and possibly contrasting it to your general experiences in NYC? Just a thought.....
Commenting for the Stuffitts!!
Exciting and ambitious schedule of races and events coming up, best of training to you! Oh, and as you well know, I agree with Lam on supplements.
If I hear, "At the end of the day..." one more time, I may lose it! Perhaps that tired phrase can find a spot on the card.
