Since we are intending on closing down 2nd Avenue anyway, why not build it in the middle of the street and have valet parking! If you build it just to the west of the physicians building yo can use the parkade! What a plan!

Chicken and egg situation here, who appoints the veterans commission? the mayor! Remember the deal from the Vets stadium when the city council wanted to spend big bucks on that and how they remedied the situation by dumping the naysayers off the commission and got their way.

How about we relocate the city council out of office and start making some sense in these building deals.

I am still "again" it, and we have but one more vote before it happens. The steam roller I fear is on the way and we are going to find out later just how big a mistake this really is. THere will be no tax advantage from this baby for the general public, that I can assure you.

Usually the "historical" is what lands in their lap, and what doesn't get saved in this town is not news, it is the usual. If a place is beyond saving or has been altered to a point it doesn't meet criteria, which is determined by Federal standards, most people don't care that it is torn down. The only thing the Historic Preservation people do is try and make the arguments to save the things that are becoming endangered not only here but through out the country. Such was the case of the smoke stack. One has to be rather astute to even know of a place in this town that is historic and has been preserved beyond things like the Paramount Theater and a few public buildings since there are so few left.

They are volunteers, they get no pay checks. When was the last time you put some energy into this town for free?

Me thinks Grassley has spent his life defrauding the farmers of this state by letting them know through his inept hucksterism he is one of theirs because he too is a farmer. It is almost as if George W. took a page from the Grassley play book, "Hay!, look at me, I'm at least as stupid as you are if not more so, but I'm looking out for you, don't ya know? I represent you , as you, not as someone smart and articulate who understands the issues and can get something done for everybody in this state or the nation." Enough already, your retirement is covered Chuck, get out now before someone finds a way to put you in jail like Rostenkowski.
