My dad programmed with punch cards, and I was fascinated by them. He was terrified when I played with them, and used to yell a lot. :(

He made me take keypunch in high school. I figured out how to create a blank template so I could verify the blank cards before I punched them, so I would get a perfectly verified batch. But I went too fast and the teacher caught me. He realized I was too smart for my own good, and should have learned programming.

But I was a girl, so they made me take Home Ec instead. Now I'm a technical Business Analyst, which is boring as shit. :(
