Yes we are. I choose to go to away games most of the time these days for that very reason. At times it's like WE are at home with the passion and noise we make as fans away from UP and it does not matter whether we are winning, losing, playing well or poor. UP died with the seats, like most grounds. The way we play is not the problem, not nice but i've made my point about this before and we are there or there abouts to get automatic promotion so Sam is earning his money. If we gave the team support at home we would win more, fact. Players feed off confidence and the crowds adulation. They have shown what they are capable of, it's not that surprising most of it is away from home.
Love the site Iain and look forward to the re-newed site. As some others have said the match day thread would be better with the latest posts at the top. I personally like the 'limited' contribution and think the quality could become somewhat watered down with too many contributors. However, I would be in favour of a few more posts by existing personel, I particually like Robert Bank's posts, so if he could be persuaded to write more I would be in favour. Just my two peneth. Keep up the good work.
Bobby Moore, a legend that will never be forgotten. I saw him play a few games for WHU, I was very young so my main memory is of him in the 75 FA cup playing for Fulham against us. My dad and uncles always speak in such reverence and fondness about him and his abilities; they all played against him at school level and followed his career along with other local lads that made it into the WH fold. I was fortunate enough to speak to Harry Redknapp a couple of years ago for some time about all things football and quite candidly about WHU but when we got onto Bobby he weld up and you could really see the and hear in his voice the esteem he holds the great man in. ‘The greatest player ever and a true gent’ were Harry’s words. You have to agree.
Thanks for the link Jarvis, thought I might see the goals.
Excellent work Iain and thanks again for the work you put in. DS came across very well and has done himself the world of good with such an honest and open set of answers. I have never had a problem with the Dave's taking control of WHU as I believed as fans they would try to do their best. However I did and still do have big reservations about the OS move but it would appear DS is now looking at that with a clear view. All in all well done on a job well done.
Thoroughly enjoying this Iain. I've got to say DS is coming across very well. The 'foot in the mouth' comments are hopefully something of the past now. He seems to have a very realistic grasp of the situation now, in the past I worried that rash decisions were going to be made to counter the mess they uncovered but the comments from DS in this article give me alot of confidence for a stable future for our club. Once again, thanks for the work you have put into this.
Well done Iain. I've been looking forward to this interview since you announced it was happening. DS to his credit seems to be honest and open, telling it as it is but not shifting blame. Thanks for putting in the effort to do this, good work.
Well put mate. I for one felt the whole team (bar Nolan) put in a shift today and got the result thet deserved. It was good to see them be so positive after the Ipswich game and by keeping the ball down and upping the work rate we totally outplayed Millwall. Noble was top draw, I hope he uses it as a real spring board and pushes his game to a new level.
A nicely written obituary about a great West Ham man. RIP.
Sad news. I found myself shocked by the news as it was announced on the radio. I always admired Speed as a player and he always seemed to be the perfect Professional on and off the pitch. My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time. On a football front, the greatest honour I can give any player is that having seen them play I hoped that one day they would sign for us, Gary Speed was one of those players. So young, a real shame. RIP Gary.
