The Fella,

Before you trying attacking me you should know that I am a volunteer on a fire department in the area. I am also a veteran who served our country valantly for more than 20 years. I know the Brotherhood well, as my Brothers serve our community with honor and dignity. We are not compelled to drink beer and do shots at our fire station. There is no reason that volunteer firefighters need to drink at the fire station. That is an accident waiting to happen. If we want to get together and have a good time, we head downtown and spend some money on our community. We DO NOT drink at our station while we "on call" for an emergency.

What false allegations have I made? It sounds like you are confirming my comments, by stating "you are heading to the station to have a beer with the chief." That does not sound false, it sounds like you are condoning that behavior. Is that correct? Why don't you try to grown up young man, and stop defending someone who obviously has an alcohol problem. Help him, instead of enabling him.

I am all for allowing people to enjo an adult beverage when they want, but to have beer and hard liquor at the Fire Station? Come on now, you can't tell me that your department allows that. Just because they are well trained does not mean that they don't break the rules about alcohol. I just don't think alcohol should be allowed in the fire station. I would imagine that building is a city owned building. Right?

Have you ever been to the Solon Fire Department? They have a full bar stocked with liquor and a beer cooler that is always full of their favorties. If their Chief is not working you can bet you will find him at the station with a beer in his hand. A real joke by todays standards. I don't understand how they can have beer and liquor in a fire department. Isn't taht illegal or something?

This guy was a joke from the beginning. CR has a great internal candidate that should have been given the job. You don't need to pay search firms to find the right guy in your own department. Reid spent most of his time flying around the country attending conferences on the City dime. He did little to nothing during his 9 months on the job. Good riddance!

I know for a fact the City of Cedar Rapids was fattening up their claims in hopes of getting more money. I worked on the flood recovery project for eight months before I got smart and left that mess. Lots, and Lots of corrpution, padding pockets, buddy system, and lies to FEMA. It was only a matter of time before FEMA caught on and started to really look into things. Now the money is gone and the bills are piling up. City of CR needs to get new leadership and start talking straight. No more LIES!!

If Mercy Hospital in Iowa City actually enforced the HIPAA laws, they would not have any employees at the Hospital. They leak information and let anybody in that hospital look into patient or employee records. They are the worst hospital in the area.

I was in the courthouse during the trial.  Attention was called to the trial because of the rukus.  I went into the courtroom to see what was going on and saw all of the things that Mr. Joens was doing before he was escroted out of the courtroom by deputies.

The bigger problem is this guy is seriously mental. During the trial, he was starring at the witness trying to intimadate the witness. He also slammed his fists into the table, started crying and then tried to pull out his own hair. The judge had to call in extra deputies to control Joens and escort him from the courtroom.

It is also very sad to see that the court only issued a $300.00 bond. Crimes far simpler that this harrassment charge often see bonds of $3,500 to $5,000 cash only. A crime where a victim feels fear for his families safety should require a far higher bond. The court made a mistake here. He needs to be locked up and have a mental evaluation.

It would also be nice to know how many "No Contact" orders are actually broken. I would guess Mr. Joens will contact the witness again, and again, and again. No Contact orders DO NOT work! Jail cells with bars, work. That is the real No Contact that is needed in this case.

Regina, you DO NOT need this guy!!!
