The "God Only Knows" intro is brilliant - the best opening of a show since The Sopranos. The song, the ice skating, the cracks in the ice, and the dinner on the planet all work so well together, and with the theme of the show. Great job!

I agree that the show is mostly fair although the "straight" Mormons have been portrayed as rather bizarre and viscious in the third season, in my opinion.

I am always amazed at the pompous self-righteousness of politically correct left leaning celebrities. I can guarantee that Robert Redford has consumed the earth's resources at 20 times the rate of the average American. Count up all his jet travel over his life (probably many private jet flights), add to that all the homes he has built / lived in, heat and air-conditioned, and all the other energy he has consumed, and it will make us "normal" hard working conservatives look like peasants. Pure hypocrisy.

He can have lots of money and consume 20x the average rate, but those "rich" couples who both work hard to raise a family and make a decent living, who are engineers and scientists that actually build things and make people's lives better, we are rich selfish jerks who need to be taxed even more than we are now. We do not hire lawyers like Redford to hide and protect our assets and income - we pay through the nose so others do not have to work so hard. As Obama is finding, it is difficult to find successful, rich liberals that pay their taxes...

I agree that in this season, Big Love is stereotyping LDS members as monstrous individuals leading a ruthless religion. It is too bad, because it has reduced my enjoyment of the show. But it won't change the fact that in my experience, Mormons are good, hard-working family-oriented people. You can always find lemons in any group, but I am waiting to see some good, normal LDS people this season... (I have not seen the final 2 episodes yet - they are DVR'ed).
