Way to go HGTV! Trump Tower. I thought of that in the beginning, but once I got hung up on the 2520 property I was blind-sighted to anything else. Good choice! I can't wait to see it unfold. Thank you, HGTV for picking Chicago. We are proud of our city and proud to host the Urban Oasis.

While the first units are scheduled for delivery in early 2012, I believe Vern can have a fully decorated condo ready by November, even if only the bones of the rest of the building are in place. It seems that it take a couple of months after the give-a-way to transfer title, which coincides with the early 2012 date.
Looking back at NYC’s UO, the on-line tour began Aug 12th. That deadline makes me a little nervous. However, I have confidence that HGTV can pull it off. And, if it is in the Lincoln Park 2520 building, I’m sure the Walsh construction company will have the unit available in time. What a coup it is for whoever has landed the HGTV 2011 Urban Oasis.

A picture is worth a thousand words.....
Guess who's running commercials on Chicago TV stations? Lincoln Park 2520. Their sales office? In the John Hancock Center. I'm thinking they are gearing up for a big announcement. Check out this link for a recent construction photo. http://chicago.curbed.com/archives/2011/04/15/chi...

This is driving me crazy, Coop. I can't place the exact street, but I'm thinking I've been there before. The grassy area brings back memories of parking a few blocks from Lincoln Park Zoo and then walking over to the zoo. I may be totally off base, it is more of a feeling than actual knowledge of the area. I am directionally challenged and have been known to lose my car and walk in circles before I find it. Makes life interesting.

If one is unable to take a quick jaunt to the other side of the pond and visit The Royals this weekend at Buckingham Palace, then do stop in at Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. It is the official start of Route 66 (thank you Nat,) and built to resemble a wedding cake. It actually looks like a Champagne fountain when turned on. Quite extraodinary.

LOL! Guess I should have googled Jelly Bean. I was thinking of our sculpture “Cloud Gate” in Millennium Park. It’s nicknamed “The Bean” and looks like a giant kidney or jelly bean. Resembling liquid mercury, it reflects Chicago’s skyline and at the right angle, it’s difficult to distinguish where the sculpture ends and the sky begins, thus the name Cloud Gate.
Chicago style pizza is hands down the winner over CA style. How about a picture of a Chicago style hot dog? That could clinch it. However, I did not google Santa Monica dogs….argh!
Coop, did you account for Dove Candy from Chicago? I think they were bought out by Mars. Then we have Frango Mints. The scandal caused by the decision to pull production from Chicago to Pennsylvania rivaled many of colorful infamous political escapades.

Sweet Home Chicago! I love it. A lot of you have already pointed out the connections with Nat. Clue #2 – We are very proud of our Ferris wheel on Navy Pier, then there is Chicago Loop, our downtown, and Circle Campus – University of IL in Chicago. Clue #3 – Wrigley gum and all of the candy connections. Now, if Mary posts a picture of a jelly bean that would really clinch it. Or, perhaps, a cloud. My guess for the location? Lincoln Park 2520 – 24 hour doorman, fitness center, 1.25 acre private park, dog run, luxury condo living at its best. Lincoln Park is my favorite neighborhood in the city with its theatres, restaurants, zoo, and diversity of the neighborhood. Welcome to my town.
