Oh I have it now. Thanks so much for posting the link here. But as you say in the note, it's odd that it doesn't sing all the verses. They'd be most exciting for children......

Dear Kenya

I have just been into the infirmary, and after some investigation
found the Matron, Laura, who told me that she had just been trying
to ring you. She hadn't received your letter, it seems.

Unfortunately, it appears that although the Infirmary does have an
unwritten policy of accepting people of military background, it
only applies to those needing pure respite care and not to
post-operative care.

I believe that she was trying to ring you as I left. I hope you
manage to persuade her! If not, they recommended the Lister next door.

The Infirmary's a lovely place. I do hope that you get in somehow.
I visited the chapel and an old soldier showed my the prayers he'd
written for a songs of praise service this evening..

very kindest regards

Yours

Herry

PS I fear that I may not see you at this year's Wykeham Day.

Dear Kenya

You may not remember me but you were a friend of my mother Annette and visited us many times at Stocks

I am in London now and am driving past the Infirmary shortly and will try and go in and ask them

I'll contact you again later today

This is Gaucho, an Argentinian chain that serves superlative meat but also good fish and pasta if one isn't so inclined. The setting is superb - on the south side of Richmond Bridge where there is almost nothing else (unlike the frenetic north).

Jo, my secretary of twenty years, now retired - writes:-)

So very sorry to hear about Gopika. I spoke to her so often over the years that I felt as if I knew her. So beautiful and so young I can't begin to imagine how much those boys must be missing her.

Thanks Chris for the link to the CTX database and the discussion about it written so cogently by Jack Devanny. I had been going to point out that this list of history's most famous spills is somewhat idiosyncratic and that the best listing of spills involving ships comes from the ITOPF website http://www.itopf.com/information-services/data-and-statistics/statistics/index.html#major
