Ordinary people are have remarkable success by joining together in local organizations and holding their elected officials accountable at the local and state levels. Alliance for Citizens Rights in Alabama and Take Back Kentucky are a couple of fine examples. Many of these organizations coalesce through Freedom21. You're probablyt right, unless we can build enough pressure to embarass Congressmen to co-sponsor the bill. Imagine what would happen if Glenn began to run a list of co-sponsors every few days to show who has and has not pledged to co-sponsors this effort to support the Constitution. I'd like to see some of the replies from Congressmen who refuse to co-sponsor publicized. This kid of pressure can do wonders. Focused on the two committee chairs, this pressure could also bring the bill to the floor, or put the committee chairs into a real hot seat.

We have to force government to get back to the Constitution. HR450 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRUBTUfPDLs> may be a way to do it. The Enumerated Powers Act requires that each bill introduced in Congress cite specific Constitutional Authority. We all need to ask our Congressmen to co-sponsor and vote for this bill, or explain - in writing- why they will not. Then we need to write letters to the editor of every newspaper in the district and either thank the Congressman for supporting the bill, or quoting the Congressman's explaination as to why he will not support it. We also need to report to the editors and talk shows the Congressmen who ignore our request. Glenn should report and list the Congressmen who have co-sponsored the bill. All the people involved in this site can force a genuine Constitutional Showdown,.
