Man I hope not, I've feverishly been looking and haven't seen anything. However, while on the Ralph Kiner website I did find wonderful ralphism "Cadillacs are down at the end of the bat." -- In response to being asked why he didn't choke up.

So true JRod. I kept catching myself shaking my head during the course of the day just saying to myself only the Mets could pull off such a feat. I too love this team but man they really can piss me off.

Really, thank you AW. Let's gig Matt for writing about the dive in the wrong sequence of the play. Unreal. Alright, so, Wright caught the ball that was already behind him, reclutched it in his glove hand before it snow coned and then dove for the 3rd base bag and tagged it with his glove hand before the speedy Benafacio could get back to the bag to complete the double play. Yes, a web gem for D. Wright. And yes he's got some throwing problems we all know about.

I so would love to see that. If anyone can recall as my memories a bit foggy on this but I seem to remember Grote getting thrown out of a game because he dipped his shoulder and let a fastball plunk the ump once when he wasn't getting the calls he felt his pitcher deserved. Great defensive backstop.

And if your a believer in the Marlins 6 year plan, this is year 6 since their last title. How wierd would that be. The fish are dangerous, except they have to be worried about VandenHurk and Lindstrom's injuries going into the season. And you are correct as usual with the 7 games in the ninth.

I usually don't respond to Philly visitors but what the heck. First, congrats on the championship, your boys earned it by playing well down the stretch the past 2 years. Kudo's. But alot of this stuff is spun up by the media and it's all good for building the rivalry. I heard Cole Hamels on the radio and they basically had to tie him down and corner him before he said anything about the Mets. As for Reyes, he had just gotten to camp and was also pressed and pressed and finally was bracketed into a response when asked how he felt about K-rod's comments. I so can't get worked up about this. What counts will be played out on the field to which as a Mets fan I say, Lets go Mets. Lastly, one of the most vivid HR's between our teams was a shot by the Bull into the upper deck of Vets in a comeback win by your team, he was a classic. Now, get the kruk outta here. just kidding.

I was a fan of it at first but it's starting to drive me nuts having to continually refresh or logout just to get the new comments to read. Also, I don't remember the last version having the auto adds start playing to the right, Is this new or was I not paying attention as usual? If it's new then maybe that's why the comments got moved to the left to fit advertising on the right. And having to trim your name which was great has to be frustrating,

MetsBlog.com : Quote: Manuel on Perez's Poor Outing

Hey brock, that indeed would be priceless. I always considered Lidge's blown save mark last year bogus anyway since we took him down in the eighth in a game last year. Certainly he was impressive but I can't stand the basis that if it doesn't happen in the ninth it doesn't count as a blown save when it's the closer that's in the game in the 8th. If the opposing manager considers the need to use his closer in the 8th then he considers it the save situation so why shouldn't the stat? Never could understand that. Have a great day and hopefully the winter's finally ended up north.

Yeah M5R I almost said the same thing above but I'm trying hard to find positives and put today's start behind us. For me the scariest part of that was that when he was overthrowing up in the zone his velocity still wasn't any better. They brought that up on the broadcast and it was right on the money. Anyway, I'm going to cling to this being the last ST start and hopefully he'll pull it together in April.

Absolutely true. Ollie was scary on many levels today where Hamels may have just been trying some things today and most likely just can't wait to get started. Ollie's got 4 starts in April against the Reds, Padres, Cardinals and Marlins. After today's showing I would be thrilled if he gets himself corrected over that stretch and we're 2-2 in those starts in the process.
