I always considered Lidge's blown save mark last year bogus anyway since we took him down in the eighth in a game last year. Certainly he was impressive but I can't stand the basis that if it doesn't happen in the ninth it doesn't count as a blown save when it's the closer that's in the game in the 8th. If the opposing manager considers the need to use his closer in the 8th then he considers it the save situation so why shouldn't the stat? Never could understand that.
