Go lecture someone else. Lackluster was & is NOT a good coach period!!!! Hawk fans everywhere are sooooooooooooo happy the Toddly is gone. ON to a real coach who will bring our program around!!!!
I could care less about about what Butler says about TL. He was destroying our basketball program. He couldn't relate to the players. He did not relate to fans. He was the worst coach we ever had & I am totally happy that he is gone. The day he was fired I started to feel hope again that our basketball team might recover from his ineptness. Way too many players left or were wanting to leave under his watch. His style of play was horrible to watch period. Good riddance to the Butler Way & the flunky Lackluster.
I am excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! McCaffery is a great hire. He has the stats & his style of play & defense is just what we needed. On to a winning coach & a better season. I can't wait to see how much our program will improve. McCaffery will appeal to the new recruits & people McCaffery recruits for us !!!!!
From what I have researched Fran McCaffery is a good hire. He has brought Sienna out of a deep loosing pit to makinf the NCAA. Hw has brought 3 programs from loosing to wining teams. Good job Barta :)

You are totally crazy to want a coach that had a 14-17 record this year. Shades of Lackluster all over again! Gregory & Scott Drew are the best choices. I know many people who will not attend or buy season tickets for a loosing coach who had a 14-17 record this year. Plenty of coaches can shoot their mouth off at the press. Few coaches have winning records every year. NO - NO - NO to the looser Boylen.
Barta will be hung in effigy is he brings Boylen to Iowa. The guy had a loosing record this year & blew up at the media when asked about the last game. I agree. I think Barta really blew it by hiring Lackluster & then looking inept because he justifiably had to can Lackluster for a horrible record ; the worst record in the history of Iowa basketball. Barta better come through or the Hawkeye fan base will demand his resignation.
Brian Gregory & Scott Drew would be good for Iowa. I hope Barta isn't a dumb_ _ _ and doesn't get either coach. Barta fumbled around to where we don't have a good practice facility until now. He is an idiot. If he comes back with that coach that has a loosing/ mediocre record he should be fired on the spot. Barta & Lackluster destroyed Iowa basketball. We need a savy coach. I hope Barta has the guts to bring in a winner. Yes Iowa does get money from the general fund which comes from tax payers. As fans we should not have to put up with an AD who can't deliver. Brian Gregory is the right fit for IOWA. YouTube has a great feature on Gregory. We would do well to get Gregory. If Barta screws this up too he will further destroy Iowa basketball. Gregory is the coach that would be great for Iowa. I don't care about Brad Brownwell. He doesn't have enough experience. The Big 10 would eat him alive just like Lackluster!!!
