I don't even care that he did; the lies, the clumsy cover-up, and the inevitable embargo of the story from an all-too-complicit media, THAT'S what angers me. CNN's coverage may very well be the highest profile the story ever gets, and I doubt the coverage will persist for very long.

Keep rockin', MSM! With John Edwards a nonissue, and Barack Obama (and Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and Tim Geithner) seemingly impervious to whatever story may break, you have someone new for whom to carry water.

Sorry, John. Saying you predicted Andrew Sullivan would be the first to Godwin the Palin movie is a sucker bet for anyone betting against you. Did you at least give odds?

How refreshing to see that Dr. Sullivan, OB, Gyn., has looked into Sarah Palin's uterus and found NAZIs, not Trig. That does break up the incessant drum beat from Sullivan's corner of the internet somewhat. Next up for Sully: Trig Palin: White Supremacist Messiah Child.

You don't know me by name, but we go back a long time. I first made your acquaintance back in 1982, when my mom would occasionally buy me comics at the grocery store. I first started collecting seriously in 1986, and every dime of my allowance, along with a large chunk of my lunch money, went into buying your titles. I bought Superman vol.2 #1, the first issue after the Crisis on Infinite Earths reboot, and I never looked back.

Superman was my ideal, my icon; the character has shaped my character, and made me who I am today (in fact, the "MOT" in my user name stands for "Man of Tomorrow"). What a quintessentially American character: an immigrant and an adoptee, blessed with unlimited gifts, but always tempered by the values his adoptive parents gave him. I always tried to do the right thing, because that's what Superman would do, and I reckon I always will.

But oh, what you've done to your character; I say that as a full acknowledgement that Superman is your character, and you may do with him as you wish. I first noticed what you were doing back in 2003, when in JLA #83, you used Superman as a sock puppet to voice your opposition to the then impending war in Iraq. Fast forward to this past year, when JMS's abortion of a storyline, "Grounded," has made my icon into a simpering little worthless mope who, gosh darn it, wants to help, but middle America is so befouled with corruption, child abuse, and racism, that he is powerless.

And now, we come to Action #900. It's complete now, your little makeover. You've made Superman into everything a leftist truly is: weak, relativistic, afraid to take a stand, unwilling to assert any kind of morality, and more a citizen of the global village than of the land that shaped and nurtured him.

Screw you, DC. Screw you right in the ear. I'm out. I am out. After 25 years, I'm done paying you to pervert my icon. Do what you want with him now; my money is going to back issues.
