Whether YOU would be thrilled or not doesn't change any of that!
So go ahead and fight for the right to live in a sea of khaki and tan an beige - that's your prerogative!

Besides that, YOU'RE WRONG! Red is the "energy" color that is thought to stimulate appetite....resulting in the plethora of red and maroon dining rooms that have become so cliche now.
Here are a couple of snippets from an article on the study of color and emotion: "Green: ......Mother Nature's most predominant color is considered the most restful to the eye." And this: "... green suggests nature (plant life, forests), life, stability, restfulness, naturalness."
And besides THAT......I guess you've never seen the movie 9 1/2 weeks.

That aside, I will address the issue of all of you who complain that those who like Antonio never give specific examples of what they like. Sorry for the length but you want examples, I've got them.
So here you go...examples galore as well as a few other things thrown in for good measure.
LOVED the pink geese. Antonio fought for those to be pink so his DESIGN voice would be heard...the judges loved it, Vern said they were BRILLIANT. I thought so too.
LOVED that Antonio refused to paint tan walls in base housing (I've lived in base housing numerous times and trust me - he did RIGHT by that family) and built a cool double-tv wall unit so the husband didn't have to go to the GARAGE to watch his sports. The military wife was thrilled with the outcome. (Just because she said she liked neutrals "like" tan, didn't mean it HAD to be tan!) It was wrong to initially say he "forget" the tan paint but he did later own up to it and told Torie and Dan he did it because he refused to paint tan. And then Antonio stood up like a man and said if you want to send me home over tan paint, then do it. The judges loved the blue paint, and I did too. It was a DESIGN decision he felt so strongly about, to not give someone in base housing tan walls, that he was prepared to go home for it.
LOVED that Antonio helped Lonni with the white room challenge.
LOVED that Antonio did Torie's laundry (they were roommates, she said this in an interview.)
LOVED how Antonio interacted with the little boy for the kids rooms challenge and that he DESIGNED, PAINTED (to look like rocks) and BUILT a cool cave bed.
LOVED how Antonio clearly worked his tail off throughout the competition. Always.
LOVED Kathy Griffin's office. I've watched her show and her whole house is stark and modern and devoid of any clutter or knick knacks - his room DESIGN fit perfectly for that house. I thought it was cool Antonio had the desks and workstations fabricated (which took planning and DESIGN to execute, rather than going out and shopping for everything in that room) as well as the metal/plexiglass map of the US which was amazing. Loved the paint colors. (Yes there were some flaws - he forgot Alaska and Hawaii and the rugs were pitiful...but like everyone else who had flaws in their rooms, that doesn't mean the whole room is a flop!)
LOVED that Antonio fought against what would have been a stupid rock "river". Even fellow contestant Jason Champion said in an interview that the "river" Dan and Lonni wanted to do was "decorator bull****! If you read Jason's bio and see some of his work, he focuses on outdoor design and knows what he's talking about.
LOVED that Antonio's DESIGN choices in furniture, paint color and window coverings gave his homeowners for the finale a house with a cool, lived-in funky vibe - not something that looked like you had help putting it together with your furniture store-provided decorator. LOVED that he cut a piece of furniture in half for the tv cabinet and it looked eclectic, colorful and unique. LOVED that he did the master bath when it wasn't even "required" so the view from the bedroom was not that hideously ugly orangish faux marble sink. I'd be happy to have a new single sink over THAT double sink mess any day. And I LOVED LOVED LOVED the green paint in the bedroom... beause guess what people? Some people want their bedroom to be bold, fun and exciting!!! Wink Wink. LOVED how he removed walls and RE-DESIGNED the kitchen. It looked awesome.
LOVE that Antonio is not afraid of bold color, not afraid of taking chances, that he spoke up for his DESIGN voice so it didn't get lost in a team challenge, that he approached all the tasks with a let's get to it, can-do attitude, that he can BUILD and DESIGN stuff, that he was nothing but affable and friendly with all the carpenters that worked for him, that he's a set DESIGNer who used to be in a rock band and had NO FEAR throwing himself into this competition to compete against others with formal training when he had none.
Now go ahead a blast me for my thoughts and opinions and tell me I'm an idiot or whatever. I DON'T CARE what you haters have to say about it. I know what I like, I'm entitled to like what I like, and I have every right to be THRILLED that....
the WINNER is...... ANTONIO!!!
