Qusai's Blog : Innovative Marketing Ideas

I think we've barely even scratched the surface as to how creative advertising can be on the internet. Right now, the main thing is quantifying the benefits so companies can justify the spend. But at some point, I'm sure advertisers will start experimenting like crazy (and may already be), and we'll start seeing some very interesting ways of advertising on the internet.

Polina's notes on Internet Marketing class : G1 Android phone: first hand experience

Do the Google applications work any better or worse on the Android versus the iPhone? If there were no noticeable differences, it could certainly gain a lot of market share but might just come down to user preference rather than functionality.

this site is awesome. being as behind on the times regarding most things internet as i am, it probably would have taken another couple years before i heard about this. i agree that it would be really interesting to know how the business model works or whether they're still trying to figure out how to monetize it.

Internet stories from Korea : The most famous blogger in Korea

I find it very surprising that they would resort to arresting him in Korea because what he predicted came true. I wonder what the legal justification for the arrest was?

Qusai's Blog : Biz Models for the Web

I wonder though whether more detailed laws and governance will have to be created to clearly delineate rights of business with respect to patenting their online business models. At present, I have a very hard time believing those patents are worth anything without the ability to enforce punishments for violations. Given the internet does span borders, I would assume this would require a massive coordination effort or a central global control agency, both of which I find difficult to envision in the near future.

Probable Impossibilities : The Tech in Football

You have to admit, the first and ten yellow line has made the game more enjoyable for those that follow football. Given the camera angles usually used, it really helps the viewer personally determine whether the first down was made or not, arguably increasing overall anticipation and excitement simply because you can visually see the plane that needs to be broken for the offense to continue.

Scott Hare's Blog : Get a life ... for only $10/month

I think there is definitely potential for virtual profiles especially as more and more personal information is posted online. Between all the social networking sites and other mediums, more and more people might appreciate a more anonymous online presence. If companies could find a way to cheapy access these networks, they might end up receiving more honest answers from their potential customer bases by virtue of the anonymity.

Waldo's Blog : Great Viral Marketing Campaigns

I wonder though whether the benefits of successful viral marketing campaigns outweighs the costs of all of the failed ones? Scott Gallacher did mention in his talk to our class that the success of viral campaigns is very difficult to measure or predict. Still, they are way more fun than the usual ad campaigns.

Qusai's Blog : I hate Apple.

I know Apple is supposed to be very user friendly. But I have to admit, I have a hard time figuring out how it works. It may be that I've been a PC user for too long. Or it could be that I just haven't bothered to sit down with it for long enough to get going.

Scott Hare's Blog : The ancient art of HTML

I'm hoping coding will move to a much more user friendly language. When I had to make a web page for my Comp Sci class in college, it took me ages just to get a banner on a webpage. There's got to be an easier way to create things on the web.
