Big Peace : Citizen Schools Graham on First Amendment

That was awesome! Note that this entire rant was uncut. Thank you for making my day. "why don't you hold me accountable playa" I'm with ya sista. "The only way it ends is with you sobbing in the men's room." I'm confident that is an accurate assessment of what would happen. Although the entire video rocks, I have to say my favorite part was, "I'm your huckleberry....Lindsey, you Jackass!" You go girl! Can we get rid of that Jackass yet?

Big Peace : Chavez Funding Leftist Group to Undermine America

Chavez went on national television, and told Venezuela that he daily uses cocaine for medicinal purposes. Listening to anything he says about foreign policy is like getting medical advice from Charlie Sheen. Let me know how that works out for you.

How upside down is the world when Chavez starts to make some sense? He's also right about unity, but not the unity he wants. Only the unity of the American people will stop the decline.

Big Journalism : What The Media and The Left Won't Tell You About Lauren Valle

So when the car pulled up with Paul, she tries to stick the sign through the window and into his face. Someone pulled here away from the car. Take a look at 55 seconds into the video, right after Paul gets out of the car. The same woman is running around the front of the car towards Paul. Obviously she was restrained in her first attempt to assault Paul and then they released her assuming she wasn't a complete lunatic and that she would not try again. Obviously she didn't attend the rally to restore sanity. The second attempt at assaulting Paul is what caused her to end up face down on the curb.

Big Journalism : Media Mostly Wrong About the Hispanic Vote

as for deportation, I didn't say I'm not for it. My point is that it doesn't do any good if we're not going to close the border. you're wasting time and money if people are just going to come right back. by making illegal immigration more difficult than legal immigration, it will greatly reduce the incentive to skirt the sytem. As far as an obligation to invite large numbers of immigrants being part of the problem, I think we have a fundamental difference in how we view immigrants. I don't believe that I'm any better than someone who is new to this country. I just have a head start. It sounds like you believe that everyone that comes here is uneducated and impoverished. That's simply not true. some of the most productive people I know were not born in the US. They came here with varying degrees of education and means, but they embraced the American dream to make the most of thier lives.

"44% of non-citizens had no coverage." That's a very broad statistic. break that down to legal and illegal "non-citizens" and how do the numbers come out? Your Utah statistic says more about much needed welfare reform and illegal immigration that legal immigration.

You're basing this off of what? It sounds like you're making the assumption that all or a majority of immigrants who come to the US are unskilled laborers trying to milk the system. That's simply not true. When talking about illegal immigrants, you'd probably be right, but not when talking about legal immigrants. But even with your original incorrect assumption you're also assuming that a laborer can make a living, send money home and have enough left over to go through the immigration process. It's a very expensive process and I highly doubt someone in that situation can scrape together the money to make that work.

#5 does nothing until the border is closed. #3 ? what does that mean and how do you propose that is enacted? There are already limits for anyone who is not immidiate family of a permanent legal resident or citizen. Which basically means you're waiting on someone with a visa number, in your category, to die before you get one. If you're suggesting that immidiate family members wait before coming in the country, then the short answer is that's a horrible idea. #1 that's absolutely impossible. The purpose of immigration reform should be to encourage legal immigration, and #1 goes completely against that. That idea is to discourage immigration period pure and simple and that's asinine. Our country is great because of immigration not in spite of it.

I'm not sure you've thought through these points very well. While they might sound good, they're not very realistic. Also, most of them are already in place even if they are not being enforced. For example, #2 & #4 are in direct conflict with each other. What better way to know if someone will become a ward of the state than to have family members already in the US. That structure will give them a better possibility of being successful. As it stands now, a family member must submit an I-864 Affidavit of Support to affirm that you will support said family member and assume all damages if that family member becomes a public charge. Also, if the person inside the US is a criminal, they are not likely to apply for family members due to the increased visibility to law enforcement, but if they do you can make a good assumption that the proposed immigrant will have problems also.

Excellent post! Immigration needs to be reformed. It's a horrible, degrading process of mind numbing paperwork. For any immigration reform to be effective, we have to close the border to force people to go through the system. One key aspect of people becoming productive citizens of our great nation is assimilation. Illegals, for the most part, show no intention of assimilating into our culture and adopting our values. Their loyalty still lies with their home country. These people cannot be allowed to vote. It's not personal, it's just the facts. If I went to Mexico, should I believe I should have a vote?

Big Government : Judge Blocks Part of Arizona Immigration Law

Why is it that sanctuary cities are safe from the progressive DOJ, but a state law which does not contradict the federal immigration laws is unconstitutional? Oh yeah, because in the progressive world truth and facts mean absolutely nothing. It's the usurption of our rights as citizens which is the most important thing. The voting block which the dems need to win in '12 is already here, they're just not able to vote. You sir, are a hypocrite and a traitor.

I would honestly hate to see it come to that, but when you're dealing with people who refuse to acknowledge the truth, have no honor, and have made it their mission in life to destroy our way of life, then maybe it is necessary to "dissolve the political bands" with the progressives.
The chickens are coming home to roost. Everything that Klein says from this point forward only puts more nails in his coffin (I mean that figguratively of course). It's such a hard decision to choose a favorite for the lefties (it's my new awards show for the most blatant hypocrisy by a media personality). And the winner is!!!.....drum roll please..... “I am genuinely scared” of Fox, wrote Guardian columnist Daniel Davies, because it “shows you that a genuinely shameless and unethical media organisation *cannot* be controlled by any form of peer pressure or self-regulation, and nor can it be successfully cold-shouldered or ostracised. In order to have even a semblance of control, you need a tough legal framework.” Don't worry Davies, minus the "tough legal framework" we feel the same way about you.

Look at the Sherrod episode. It's obvious they still operate the same way. Do whatever they can to discredite Fox. Accuse, Accuse, Accuse. While, at the same time, completely ignoring their own bias and shortcomings. Let's see some of these hacks step up and make a real apology (Sarah Spitz that was crap - I'd have more respect for you if you stepped up and said you still believe it - not that I know who you are before yesterday).

We get all fired up about national pride for the Olympics, for sports we wouldn't dream of playing ourselves, but for the World Cup it's a controversy. Why is that? I think people on the right don't like the sport because we're not that good at it. I think people on the left like it for the same reason. Instead of bashing the sport or preaching it like it's the greatest thing ever we shoulld support our team and give them the motivation to shock the world and win this thing. I'll admit that I'm a little biased because I played soccer for 15 years of my life. I love the game. I won't preach the wonderful aspects of the sport, but if you can't support the US team then shut the hell up.
