I see a major issue here with the restructure the bionic company with the gov't and the UAW as the main sholderholders of the experiement. All of the bondholders and other investors getting pwned by will likely set the tone for all other companies and industries.

I see investors drying up their troughs and getting out of the market all together. I mean look these people can't handle the stress of a reccession well. How do you think they'll manage constantly getting hosed in their investments. Add to the exodus of investors out of Wall Street to the list of what Glenn Beck and company is seeing as the short recovery and the Inevitable "throught the fllor" depression to happen, we're in for a world of hurt. Pun intended and unintended.

We need ot be careful. The 2010 elections will set the precedent of our salvation or damnation!!!!!!

We can only hope. The UAW, and unions like them, are only part of the problem.

This is why I beleive this could very well be the death throws of both Chrysler and GM. I see both going the wayside as Plymouth and Oldsmobile. If President Messiah didn't screw with this bankruptcy, then these two companies may have came out strong and ready to compete.

Yet another way to for America to be competative is to boycott Us based corp.'s who move their production overseas. I understand that companies need to make profits and find places that don't punish prosperity ver attractive. If they find our levels of gov't beating like red-headed stepchild, then they need to stand against the oppressors. I guarantee there will be alot of our fellow Americans supporting that effort to ensure a level playing field for competativeness. The companies to make the first move and ask for support from all of us citizens. Everyone has the right to advantage to the opppertunity this nation stands for. What we do with it is up to us.

I can come up with other examples, but we know no amount of chit-chat will substitute for action.

One way for the US to be more competative globally is to more productive here stateside. We need to be proud to be Americans and be proud to soppurt the quality and pride of the our fellow American workers.

Another way to be competative is to create a situtaion where other nations we import and export play fairly. As an example, look at Japan. The Japanese Yen is purposely devalued against the US Dollar. This gives Japanese based products have a overt advantage when selling their products at and abroad.

I agree with us Amercians need to change our mindset and support our industrial might. With people saying we consumers need to spend to get our economy going when we have a diminished production base is teetering on lunacy. I make effort to buy as many "Made in USA" products as possible. It's very difficult. One industry I see an abundance of USA products are in the chemical industry.

Hopefully, we need to take care of ourselves before we decide to take on the world's problems. We need to learn a hard lesson about relying on other countries, especially potential enemies.

How about this site www.americanliberalism.org . I bumped into this site will doing a paper for one of my college assignments. The mindset of these individuals is something headscratcher. I believe any reaching out to most, if not all, who are a part of that site won't be fruitful. That site probably follows suite with these other sites stated in this response. Maybe just more evidence of how close-minded and misguided people can be.

Here is the rest.............
For any consideration to be successful, one aspect needs to addressed. Lobbyists needed to know their place. No exceptions what so ever. If they want consideration, they need to bring infront of congress for all citizens to have access of they are wanting. I compare this to how GE is getting and will continue to get preferrential treatment over other companies. Big businesses have their place in our capitalist, constitutional republic. Their place has no where in the political arena. Ex. If there is a major project with co-operation between companies (same industry or all considered), then a partnership with all companies involved and the gov't can be a good thing. believe there should be a co-operation between private and public interests. Thin line it may be, but we need experts in each field to be protected by those who are elected. Either way, it's the responsibliity of us American citizens to ensure there is no favortism and our constitutional rights are protected.
