Big Hollywood : REVIEW: Not Much Dreamy In ‘Wonderland’

I have to agree - the lack of crazy, sing-song randomness in Burton's Wonderland sort of ruined it for me. The mad hatter was nowhere near mad enough and, really, there was too much plot. It took me a long time to realize why this movie just didn’t hit the spot and I really think it's because it doesn't have the soul that the books or even original Disney movie had. It's a shame. It was pretty though?

Big Hollywood : Cheetos (Poor People Need Fathers Not Government Programs)

I'm poor - I live in a very poor neighborhood, I survive because of the things my father taught me. I completely sympathize with you Victoria. I can tell you that there are very few 'fathers' in my neighborhood and amoung those there are very few that are 'husbands' and even fewer without criminal records. Hopefully one day the things my father taught me will help me not be so poor and I can move.

Big Hollywood : A Funny Thing Happened On My Way To a Town Hall Meeting

Waxman has always reminded me of that Twilight Zone episode where doctors are trying to alter a womans looks so that she can fit into society - and at the end it turns out that the doctors and 'socially acceptable' people look like pig people and she's perfectly normal. Yea, he would do great there.

Big Hollywood : Daily Gut: Bush Speaks

I always beleived that George Bush had my country's best interest at heart, even when I didn't like some of the things he did. I never felt like he was just trying to be a celebrity and look out for his own self interest - and I miss that. I miss having a president who actually cared about more then their personal status.

I found The Da Vinci Code to be really predictable, on top of being boring and maybe a hour too long. I will probably hold off on seeing Angels till it's reached the cable-tv-movie stage. And then maybe not...

Big Hollywood : “I'm Against Guns and Violence, Unfortunately Reality Has Intruded on My Delusional Paradise.”

That is exactly what my Dad has always told us! Both myself and my sisters have learned to handle firearms since we were 9. I have my concealed carry license and while I have never had to actively draw on someone I have had to access it and been ready to draw very recently. A good piece of CC advice for the ladies is that a pocket is really better than a purse. A purse is better than nothing.

Big Hollywood : America’s Heroes

Thank you greatly for your service and that of your son. Coming from a military family, I tend to not be able to read articles concerning our heroes without tearing up. My boss at work once asked me what the difference between the Army and the Air Force was (yes she’s a liberal). I find it both appalling and amazing how people can know absolutely nothing about the people who make sacrifices for them but feel the need to have opinions on war while immersing themselves in sports and pop culture.

Big Hollywood : Obama Apologizes to the Right People

Hehe. I think the funniest thing about all of this is that I can promise you just about any member of the Special Olympics could beat him at any given sport they participate in. Those people train incredibly hard and are exceptional athletes. Hey! Why don't we have a bowl-off as part of his apology??

Big Hollywood : Letter to Congress Regarding the Latest Obama Outrage Against Veterans

My sister is in the AF ROTC at a local university hoping to become an intelligence officer when she commissions in two years. About once a week they get word of a new budget cut from the current "administration". I always apologize to her in the following manner: "I'm sorry your country has failed you and your peers, I will do my best to change that for you in 4 years." When I heard about Barry's new proposal concerning our wounded heroes, I felt ill and I felt embarrassed that this intolerably disrespectful man was the Commander and Chief. I don’t think I could ever apologize enough if this thing actually goes anywhere.

Big Hollywood : Partisan Hacks Using Comedy As A Shield

I quit watching the Daily Show about two months after John Stewart became the host. I think at that time he hadn't even sharpened his libby claws yet, he was just flat out not funny. I tried to watch the full clip of his chat with Cramer on youtube but it was far too painful, but then again I don't know what I expected. I'm not sure how Andrew put up with all that, I agree with Brandon that I probably would have thrown some punches and just left.

Big Hollywood : Lion Meat: Coulter vs. Maher

I took my sister to see Ann speak at Xavier University in Ohio when she was a freshman. Her lecture was insightful, well thought out, and very funny. When liberal audience members tried to debate her during the question and answer portion, she sat them down without much of a contest. Maher never stood a chance against her. He, like his beloved messiah, is amateur at best.

Big Hollywood : The Common Sense of Rush Limbaugh

Amen. I love Rush. When I was a kid, sitting in with my Dad as he ran errands for our small family business, I used to get so frustrated with Rush's delivery style. My Dad would always tell me "Just wait - you'll love him within a year." And he was right. I've come to admire his swagger and ability to rile the Libby masses.
