We need to realize this is the first time in O's life that some people refuse to fawn over his "greatness".

This is an interesting question.

About 75% of the Romney's invested wealth is in a blind trust, meaning it's managed by someone else and the Romney's don't really even know what holdings they have at any given time, or any say in how the investments are made. This is relatively common among politicians to avoid conflicts of interest.

According to boston.com, which cited Romney's financial disclosure report, Romney's net worth hasn't changed much in the last 4 years. This doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility that Romney made a ton of money betting against the economy, but it does suggest that if he did, he must have donated most of it.

I think the possibility of him donating stock to the LDS church is a possible reason. Perhaps his portfolio manager liquidated some of his more "politically dangerous" holdings by donating them to LDS as part of the Romney's annual tithe.

One possibility is that Romney may have snatched up large amounts of property while the rates have been so low. Maybe he thinks having 5 more super mansions would make him seem more out of touch with everyday folks.

I have to admit, Romney seems like a relatively calculating man, so it seems really odd that he would intentionally put himself in a position to make releasing his 2008/2009 tax returns a problem. Surely he was planning to run again, and a man with so much wealth would have no reason to needlessly endanger his political future.

So it is a mystery. But regardless of the reason, it irritates me. One of my main complaints with Romney is his wishy-washy timid approach to the promotion of capitalism. If he's wealthy, and got there by following the law, he should be able to defend and promote the choices he made to get there. NOT hide them! We need bold leadership.

The SCOTUS should rule against New York's rent control.

It would immediately make the city more affordable.

Appelbaum, in my opinion the curse on Israel has always come the fanatical "left-wing" party.

Furthermore, the fanatical "left-wing" Jews are a curse on America.
