you don't need just cause for a traffic stop - think of the dui checks where they stop every car on the road.

You do need just cause to search the vehicle though

I would definitely hold animosity toward a cop that pulled me over for something like this - that is if I ever recovered from the scare of having been pulled over. I panic whenever i see a police car's lights and i've never been pulled over

Even if we assume that this was her family logging in, having found or known her password, don't you think they would have taken out the box that could easily describe how a kidnapper was playing mind games with her ("you know your mom and dad couldn't make it back.
