Lear like rage? You're doing Lear no favors by that comparison. lol

The thing that baffles me is what Obama and his bots thought they could accomplish with this legislation. Even by the most generous estimate it did nothing to address their perceived problem! Trotting Stanley McCrystal out to pronounce the 5.56X45 (.223 Remington) round favored by the AR crowd as "too lethal for civilians" was the final straw. Obama might not know better, and Feinstein surely does not, but McCrystal does! Who paid him off, and for what?

So what did all the grandstanding about an underpowered cartridge and a popular rifle hope to accomplish? Assuming that not all of the players in the field are as stupid as they look, I don't think I like the answer to that question.

There's your Brain from Planet X, and your people dissolving nuclear slime (some Raymond Burr dub), but the two that stand out for me are;

The Day the World Ended (1955), and

The Day of the Triffids (1963)

Both, although extremely cheap productions, demonstrate a basic understanding of survival against long odds (but Zardoz is very cool too).

""And so he's been the beneficiary of things that he had very little to do with," Axelrod told ABC television. "

Excuse me; what's an "Axelrod", and what does it think it knows about this?

"A little intellectual elite in a far away capital". Yes. That resonates to high Heaven.

The clips of Frank and Pelosi cast against Reagan's speech are cruel, and real. They are small people with small minds. Perhaps, like the cops, congress will pass a law that forbids them from being videotaped. It's the only way they're going to survive.

This is not what I was taught as a scout, and our leadership would not (I believe) have permitted it, but times are quite different now. When I was a scout we were not under fire from Levis and atheist organizations anxious to kick us out of schools and parks, and cut off donations for some (ill) perceived slight to their sexual preferences. So I will not criticize them.

I will also not donate to United Way or buy any product made by Levis. They made their bed, and they can sleep in it for all I'm concerned.

That is so sad.

Ringo was my favorite Beatle. He was a great drummer, and carved out some new territory. Then he was Mr Conductor (or something) on PBS, and it was a great show for (my) kids.

I'm sorry to see that he's gone that far down, but my regard of English persons is not very high. In fact it's more or less right in line with Bush's "soft racism of low expectations".

KING LEAR: How's that?

I dearly love the Louisiana coast. It's red mud beaches by the mile, knocking oysters off the jettys at low tide, crabs by the ice chest full in every bar ditch, oil rigs winking in the night, and furnished shacks you can rent for $60.00. It is truly a sportsman's paradise.

I am not going to tell you where that is. Find it yourself.

I disagree!

We have a handsome young man who is lost in the world. His 70 (!) year old father sent him to boarding school in a foreign country. He has no friends. Feels increasingly isolated. What do you expect? He's gonna turn out to be another Einstein?

Muttalab did a very bad thing. He will be punished. Will the father and the culture that created this atrocity be punished?

I was wondering if Carnahan could be charged with inciting to riot. Tried to pull up a video of his townhall meeting in STL, but the first 50 google search pages have to do with Gladney and the SEIU thugs!

Still hoping to find some actual town hall meeting footage.
