Mr. GovtWrench strikes again according to Yahoo: "President Barack Obama and Democratic lawmakers reached agreement on Tuesday on a legislative proposal designed to stimulate U.S. auto sales, which have fallen to near 30-year lows.

The one-year plan crafted by members of the U.S. House of Representatives would offer vouchers worth up to $4,500 for owners to replace their less fuel efficient vehicles for models that get better gas mileage.

The goal of the "cash for clunkers" legislation is to sell 1 million vehicles.

By stimulating consumer demand for new vehicles, this proposal will directly benefit domestic autoworkers and automotive manufacturers, which have arguably been hardest hit by the current economic downturn," said Rep. John Dingell, a Michigan Democrat and staunch industry ally." --Yahoo.com 5/5/09

Will try again...OFP: I love the "BO's LAST term in office" remark if only the United States can survive that long. Socialist Fed Chairman Bernanke testified today in front of the DEM congress that the recession would end this year. Ha!

As the nation’s jobless rate jumps to a new high, want to bet a couple more $Trillion on it BO?

I agree with TermLmts. If I wanted to be a democrat, I would join the democrat party. The main problem with Republicans moving away from Reagan ideas to attract Specter type moderates is that if the Conservative vote gets split between Republicans and Libertarians, the liberal Democrats will rule forever.

Dodd, according to Fox News, has raised about $4,200 inside the state of CT and raised about $650,000 from OUTof state contributors. Campaign funds from the moneychangers, the labor unions, PACS, Soros, and other libs. Maybe Dodd will lose in 2010? I doubt it but I certainly hope so.

If I was a Border Agent, I would not want to get any type of flu and if I wanted to wear a mask, then why should some ex-college professor who knows nothing about Homeland Security tell me I cannot. Washing your hands does not prevent transmittal of germs in the air. There is a mask plant in Florida that is running at capacity. Like I said in an earlier post, if masks don't work, why do surgeons wear them? Is the World Health Org. getting hysterical by invoking a 5 out of 6 rating on their Pandemic scale?
