I didn't know Flashbooking.com. How did I miss that as a Flashpacker? :) Great list!

Fair point. Technology and internet can easily take over and not let us enjoy the world around us, which should be the main point of travelling anyway. You read often of how some flashpackers travel just to change place from where to twitter from :) Like television internet is a tool, up to us to make a good use of it. Thanks for commenting James.

Absolutely agree. Call it Flashpacking or Backpacking the important part is to keep the essence: travelling independently, getting to know different cultures, mixing with the locals, avoid organised expensive trips that won't show you anything, etc.. Regarding wheelie suitcases.. looks like there's something in between: http://tuxinbackpack.com/2008/07/flashpackers-pre...

Happy Travels!

Hey Dave, you old globetrotter. I'm good here, spending too much time in Europe for my liking, but good. Nice to work online mainly, no office to go to, wake up when you want. That hostel looks great, might check it out in April. Portugal might also be my next destinations to live for a bit. If you got tips for living there plz send them over by Facebook. Happy roamings!

Thanks Liz. Hope it'll bring more Flashpackers to your site and to Corsica of course. Still have to get there myself :)

Go raibh maith agat Benny! That's exactly the kind of info Flashpackers that are not yet Couchsurfers need to know! Enjoy Goa!

Thanks for contributing everybody. Insightful comments indeed. So far looks like there's not an ideal "Flashpacking laptop", it all depends why you need one: mobile phones like iPhone or Omnia i900 for checking emails and Facebook, netbooks for blogging, quick movie & pics editing, or a solid reliable laptop for more serious stuff.. looking forward to hear more on the subject!

Of course.. I didn't even mention mobile phones.. so the question would be: do we need a laptop while travelling after all? Thanks for contributing Viktor!
