If you don't already have it I would suggest a gun (or several) and as much ammo as you can get your hands on. When push comes to shove, hungry people are going to come knocking or kicking down your door and they won't play nice.
Pixel, I know you said that you were no longer going to comment on this subject so i am not expecting a reply, but I do not appreciate the comments that you have made regarding the LDS Church. I am LDS and am appalled that any decent American would talk so negatively about a church that does so much good. Bad form. You do not have to agree with our beliefs or our methods of worship we only ask that you respect our right to worship as we feel. I especially take issue with your comment about members of the LDS faith not being Christians. Have you been to an LDS service? Listened to an LDS leader? Read any LDS literature? We very much believe in Christ. In fact, He is at the center of all we do.
masterliberal, I disagree 100% with every word in your post. First thing, I make less than $25,000 a year and i know that there are a lot of others here that would match your description of "common folk." I don't understand why you and other democrats feel like you deserve all these benefits. I would never expect someone else to support me and my family. I don't make very much money and I have no medical insurance, but still I have everything I need and a little extra and a hell of a lot of self respect. I don't blame others for what I don't have nor do i feel that I deserve what others do have. I work full-time while going to school full-time. If I am fortunate enough to make a lot of money when I finish school and progress along my career path I will not feel sorry that I have and others don't. I am paying my dues and busting my ass so that I can have those things, Its called the American dream. Of course it means you have to take responsibility for yourself, work hard and make sacrifices and still there are no guarantees. Oh, and by the way, my brother lived in Denmark for a couple of years (not military) and he didn't have anything good to say about the socialist way of life there.
Ridiculous, I wouldn't pay $5 for that study. What a waste of time and money, but what else can you expect from our government. Makes me sick.
I hate the main stream media. I work in security for a company that has offices all over the world so I have to have the news on all the time when I am at work so I can monitor world events to assess threats to the companies offices and traveling employees. I get so sick of it. They think they are so smart and amazing. I get paid to watch it and I can't stand it. I don't know how anybody would ever want to watch that crap in their own house.

I totally agree. Make the punishment for committing a crime with a gun super tough.
My thoughts on "common sense" gun control: There should be no control. Any control by the government is bad. There should be no restrictions on manufacturing, selling, owning, or carrying of any firearm. I also think that it would be a good idea to teach basic gun skills in public schools. Teach every kid about guns; gun safety, marksmanship, and cleaning and basic gun smithing. I feel it is the responsibility of every American to not only own a gun but at least be somewhat competent in the use and care of your gun. If you give them an inch they'll take a mile.
I get so pissed when I hear people bring up racism. What the hell people? The only reason its still around is because people won't let it die. I don't even think I know any racist people. Grow up already and stop trying to create something to hide behind every time something doesn't go your way.
