Indeed, we must not forget it, and it is unlikely we will given the numerous references it receives in popular film and the media.

What concerns me more, however, is the serious ignorance amongst the British public about similar events around the same time, such as the Holodomor (Ukrainian famine) or the numerous millions more deaths that were occurring under the Iron Curtain up until very recently. The fact we were allied with the Soviets in WWII means that the true extent of collaboration between Soviet and Nazi were not revealed until much later, the details on the Holocaust being dependent on Soviet information which did not disclose their collaborative role, nor the brutality of the red army and NKVD as millions upon millions more were sent to the Gulags across the vast tundra of Siberia under the manipulative guise of "equality" or ethnic replacement. Much of the detail of the horrors happening are only still being discovered right to this day, and the sad thing is that is instead of such things potentially being forgotten, many look like they will never be known in the first place.

IRA insurgency campaigns (only to be kept under control with counter-insurgency tactics by the B-specials and internment) had been going on since Northern Ireland was created in the 20s right through to "the start of the troubles". "The troubles" (sic - what a horrible euphemism for the latter IRA "struggle") being a completely arbitrary period. During the period you mention Garda intelligence indicated IRA regrouping and training of IRA units in the hype around the 1916 anniversary.

It then really kicked off (once more, as it had in decades before) after Marxist IRA men formed the NICRA in Wolfe Tone Societies, as a very purposeful stated change in tactical direction at a time of Marxist revolution movements at the height of the Cold War. This, along with much of its hyperbole, helped to raised the hysteria and escalate things with the help of quite a few useful idiot "liberals" joining in. Everything went exactly according to plan and gave the cover for an re-energised futile "struggle" to be unleashed for another few decades.

Translated: "DO AS WE SAY, KEEP AWARDING US FOR OUR MURDER CAMPAIGN, AND KEEP US SPECIAL AND ABOVE THE LAW -- OR WE BOMB AGAIN."

If that is what the so-called "peace" is built on, then it is no "peace" worth having. This is a farce as we know rightly MI5 have much more evidence available and should unleash everything they've got (McConville is really only the minuscule tip of the iceberg), as SF are cornered. Let the whole pointless "process" end and let us have normal government please (Stormont or no Stormont, it makes no difference as the current Stormont is incapable of decision-making by design).

Rewriting history again? Provisional Republican Movement with the same leadership. Provisional Sinn Fein / Provisional IRA.

I think you are the nutter if you think TUV and 32CSC are even in the same ballpark.

PC shaming tactics on anyone not implementing the excesses of their destructive Cultural Marxist agenda only work on cult members (or people from outside trying to aid in the subversion of the target country). There may be many in the media, but I am not one of them.

Or alternatively, "There was no substance in this reply, so no debate here", just like the above two posts other than trying to super-excessively-self-congratulatory-stroke-each-others-egos-out-PC each other (while knowing at the back of their mind that it is nothing but a silly BS game)

Of course, why would one more murder ordered by their leader make one iota of difference to our wonderful neighbours who have been electing these people for decades? Just one more notch of honour.

The timing and "agenda" is completely of the Provos' own. We all know rightly that Jean McConville is the tip of the iceberg of what Gerry-haven't-gone-away-ye-know-not-in-the-ra-Adams has ordered and that he is already immune as a known IRA commander and named member of army council, and so has been the case for the past 20+ years.

I wish MI5 to prove me wrong and make a change of tact, but that is how it has been.
