No, there was no new law created. A defense attorney thought they had a loophole by trying to say tribal law enforcement officers were not peace officers. Judge Thornhill affirmed that they are indeed peace officers, so now the charge stands and the defense attorney will need to come up with a new plan.

Number one I think the people of this "Church" are absolutely wrong. That being said the Supreme Court is not supposed to make rulings based on public opinion, but rather on the constitutionality of laws, so a signing a petition to the Supreme Court does nothing but give you a way to vent. You would do better joining the honor guards that are positioning themselves between these cult members and the family members of service members.
