Imaginative and clolourful murals are a great wat of using derelicyasnd unsighylu unban structures. Was Mona involved in some of the really fsantastic murals in parts of th missio when I livesd there back in 1995? Two questions - did the mural tradition in SF orignjate from the hippie 1960s era of the city and the "counter culture" artistic movements linked to that - or is it a much older tradition possibly being introduced by the Hispanic groups to the city? I'd love if Mona came over here to Dublin and tried her hand at beautifying up some of out less visited streetscapes.
