After my military service I returned to California, then ended up moving to Arizona in 1994. I moved back for a year in 2002 to help my parents get my childhood home ready to sell. They finally did sell it in 2004. That cut the last tie my family had to the state.
All of my cousins, Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents have all moved to different states.
I WANTED to stay in the State, but I could not afford to live the way I had grown accustomed too. The cost of living was ridiculous. The rampant illegal immigration helped to contribute to the poverty and raise in crime in the area I once called home.
The blatant mis-management of the government there made it a place that I no longer recognize. This crazy legislation is just another in a long string of incredibly stupid decisions by the out of control politicians.
I weep for the people of California and long for the California of my youth to one day be restored. I do not have much hope that that will ever happen.

The time may come when armed resistance is required, but I certainly pray that time never materializes.
(As an aside...love the screen name...Eddings was a favorite of mine for many, many years. He will be missed.)

Love that film.
The Last Starfighter has always been one of my favorites. I still get a chuckle out of the scene where you can EASILY see that the only thing wrong is that they do not have the 9 volt battery plugged in!
I'd have to add D.A.R.Y.L. to this list as it fits in perfectly with those 2 movies!

I didn't have a problem really with Affleck as Daredevil. He wasn't GREAT, but he wasn't bad either.
No...I had a hard time with Michael Clark Duncan (I thin kthat is his name) as The Kingpin, much more than Affleck.
My major problem with Daredevil was not the acting. It was the story and how the characters were WRITTEN in that story.
*shrug*

I have to say that I am always disappointed when people talk about Spader, and never mention my personal favorite movie.
1984's Tuff Turf. It also starred Kim Richards (From the Witch Mountain Disney movies) and Robert Downey Jr. A simple premise. New kid in school falls for a gang leaders girl friend.
It wasn't ground breaking or anything, but just a fun movie to watch, which I did countless times as a teen ager.
I was pretty happy when my wife actually got it for me on DVD a few years ago.
Ahh good memories and good times.

We need to vet EVERY candidate, regardless of party distinction, and drag their skeletons into the light.
Usually we can actually RELY on the MSM for this for right-leaning candidates...as they like to drag out anything that can even SEEM to be a skeleton in the closet...but how much do they really dig? Especially for some candidates that may be saying they are Right in the head, but really just Left their sense behind and are concealing it?

Sean Astin's best movie is Rudy. (Jon Favreau was good in it too!)
Kurt Cobain was/is OVER RATED.
Gigli was NOT as bad a movie as it is made out to be.
Oh yeah....HAN SHOT FIRST!

The thing that really surprises me is in the comments. The one by MsMassachusetts posted at 09:57. The part that gets me is where she claims that it is a RIGHT to have health care and gay marriage.
I must have missed that day in class because I sure don't remember the Constitution ever saying anything about that.
Where do people come up with these justifications?

Ahhhh yes. Definitely one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.
I have so many memories tied up with watching this movie with the family over the years, that the season does not feel complete until I watch it at least once.

I grew up reading about them in the 70's, and followed them all the way through the grim and gritty fad up until a couple years ago, when I just couldn't find anything really enjoyable out of the storylines.
To me, Punisher is still just a villain. Someone for Daredevil or Spiderman to beat up. Wolverine used to always go through the inner struggle to remain in control and NOT allow himself to just wade in blood.
That isn't what the current crop of writers want anymore.
And don't even get me started on talking about what they did in the Civil War storyline. A really really POOR attempt to bash Bush that was poorly written.
I miss the joy I used to get from reading about Super Heroes.
Guess I should be happy that I at least save my money now.
