Maranda who? I understand that Maranda is just a character this woman plays, much like Fireman Freddy and Buck Barry from the WOOD TV of yore. So who is the real person behind the fabricated name? Is she truly "very sincere, caring & friendly", or is she simply a paid prop? Buck Barry was a cantankerous old coot when he was out of character, and Don Melvoin/Fireman Freddy was an incorrigible alcoholic. Think about that before you get too wound up in all things Maranda.
Get real! The "average person" thus far would have been tried (no plea deals), convicted, sentenced to 2+ years of prison (not jail) time, and listed on the SOR for a minimum of 20 years.
This may have much to do with protecting property values in the neighborhood in which Gabrielse resides. Home owners do not want a registered sex offender listed as living nearby. My guess is that influential citizens who live in Gabrielse' upscale neighborhood are linked to this non-sentence.
Guess what? There is a bike path running along the road that the cyclist should have been using.
The point Thrillkiller was trying to make is that the Grand Rapids Press (not WOOD) filed a lawsuit in order to obtain the payment information. WOOD chose not to disclose that fact.
It's eliteist cyclists (oops; sorry you want to be called "athletes") such as you who give the breed a bad name. Of course you have the "right" to ride in the road, but you also bear the consequences of being struck by a motorist. I see the packs of cyclists riding down Lakeshore Dr. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with riders weaving from single file to three abreast without notice. You are accidents waiting to happen. Good thing for us motorists that if we do colide with you, all we need is some paint touchup. You, on the other hand, are looking at more serious damage ("sorry for you loss". Ha ha!). I ride my cycle on the designated paths and I wish all other responsible cyclists would also do so.
Cyclists should ride on the bike paths along Lakeshore, NOT ALONG THE SHOULDER! We taxpayers spents hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep the cyclists and the automobiles seperate and safe, the the so-called "elite" cyclists continue to clog the roadway and cause safety issues for all.
We don't need any more Surrender Monkeys in Afghanistan.
I Like this...a great actor portraying a great man. Can't wait to see the movie.
