Sorry if I came off as an asshole, I just always get frustrated at that excuse saying how the source material is stupid so its Ok if the movie is stupid. Didn't mean to bash you, and I actually LIKED Transformers, I just think these movies could be great and could have good stories. Again sorry if I came off more frustrated at you, just the excuses I hear for Transformers sometimes really annoys me. Transformers 2 will probably be fun but I am sure I will still be complaining about it not being as great as it could be.
First off have a good script, keep the story focused on Shia since he is the best part. Look at the first half of Transformers how they had one McGuffin (the glasses) then the 2nd part (the cube). Keep ONE McGuffin, it feels sloppy having two and it just stretched out the movie and it felt bloated. Give all the Transformers something unique- Be able to notice them right away when their fighting. Make them all different looking and even give them a little personality. Let Megan Fox do something except scream constantly and look blankly. I would want to see the characters questioning what they are doing. I mean I didn't buy Shia's character becoming an action star at the end of the first movie. Actually make characters believable. Also dont have characters popping in and out of the movie, remember the first one with the hackers and even Sam's best friend at the beginning. They were thrown aside but they were set up like they would actually do something. You can still have character development and a lot of kick ass action. The action is golden in these films and thats why I enjoy them, but I think they could be actual great movies.
Ugh, it makes me sad that people eat up these remakes and not something like Drag Me to Hell. I think the problem with Drag Me to Hell was that it was also mis-marketed, they only conveyed it as a horror movie and not the slapstick horror comedy that it was. I guess their point is that shitty remakes do better then fun original horror movies. Also its not like Drag Me to Hell had gigantic drop offs in the box office like their films. Its not a box office failure but its just not a success, but all I know is that 10 years down the line when Drag Me to Hell and Friday the 13th are on cable they are going to pick Drag Me to Hell. Sorry for the defense, but I fucking love that film. The Birds remake is a pretty stupid idea too, all Hitchcock remakes have been shit and I am sure this wouldn't be an exception. Rosemary's Baby was also a bad idea. The best versions of those concepts have already been made, you cant top it, leave it a lone. Friday the 13th was Ok, used a lot of bad horror gimmicks that came off as a parody (how many times did Jason pop up out of no wear?). Sequel to that isn't a bad idea but its unneeded. I'm only looking forward to A Nightmare on Elmstreet since Jackie Earl Haley is in it and that music video director is good. I still find it funny that these guys put down Drag Me to Hell while all their movies are generally crap.
Also who the hell would give the director of Van Helsing final cut aka creative control?!? Thats basically setting yourself up for a disaster.
This doesn't sound good at all.
As Nero's loyale minion, why didn't you ever tell Nero to just go save his planet during that 28 year span? P.S. your awesome
So are you saying only praise movies and not trash them? You obviously have problems with expressing negative opinions on a film site that asks you to express your opinion. Take a clue from the "What Did You Think?" articles Peter post for big movies. Dont come on here if you only want people to see people kissing a movies ass.
Why do you get offended by me pointing out how great these movies could be? What's wrong with criticism? Do you only want to hear people sucking off Michael Bay's Robots? I LIKED the first Transformers movie but I think these movies could be great if they actually had good focused stories.
Also the "what would u do" is just proof that you have a hard time defending these films. They are fun, but why cant they have a good story.
Yeah I guess I am an idiot for liking Star Wars and Raiders while you can gizz all of yourself when you see Megan Fox being humped by a robot.
