I hear many conservatives, like myself, talk endlessly about how far our country has moved from what our founders had intended, but they seem to be unaware of the root of this change. What moment in our history did we the people lose control of the beast which is our present Government? It was the 14th Amendment, an Amendment so radical that it had to be proposed and ratified unconstitutionally. Congressmen who would not vote for it were expelled and replaced. Eleven states were removed from the Union until they submitted at the point of bayonets. The 14th Amendment put all power in the national government and removed sovereignty from the States. The power given to the new federal government and its courts became absolute, no longer delegated, but seized. A study of the 14th Amendment and the illegal steps taken to ensure its passage will reveal the root cause of our present situation. Our government doesn't listen to us anymore because we are no longer a threat to them. Our best chance to be heard is at the local and State level, but the 14th Amendment stripped the States of their power. The President, Congress and the Supreme Court are the judge of their own limits, which are increasingly endless. All laws where the Federal Government has imposed its will on the States are based on the 14th Amendment. The 14th Amendment has effectively repealed the 10th Amendment. If I had one wish for my country, it would be the annulment of the 14th Amendment and every bad law that is rooted in it. As long as the 14th Amendment stands, consent of the governed is a myth. Every fear that Jefferson, Madison, and Patrick Henry had, have come true.

American ideology has been changing for some since Karl Marx. We who believe in the dream that was America, will never give up. If America continues down this path, it will be no more. Somebody will have to know what the original design was in order to put the pieces back together.

I am with you Morgan103. Our founders wanted liberty first and government a distant second. This is why Patrick Henry said, "give me liberty or give me death" but he refused to attend the constitutional convention, stating, " I smell a rat."
