This scene is forever imprinted on my wife's mind, her grandfather landed on Omaha Beach and fought through the Battle of the Bulge. He never talked about it until I came into the picture (at that time I was the only other vet in the family, and the only one he felt that would understand). After seeing this scene she asked me "Was that what it was like?" I told her "hollywood would never get the emotions true but it was the closest I had seen." I was a classified document procedure instructor both in the Navy and when I was a contractor working for the Army. The first item on the both the initial and renewal classes was the penelty for knowingly violating the agreement. At this point we gave everyone the option of leaving the class and not receiving their clearence if their did not agree with the agreement. My point is he had been informed of what would happened if he violated the agreement. This is part of the document that Aleric mentioned.

I've been thinking about the orginal, and even Russia need a surgical nuke strike on "key cities" to accomplish the invasion. Does anyone remember NKorea last long range missile test? It didn't even clear the launch platform. With no strike they will have to rely more on their half starved army. Not only that but how would they hide the staging that would have to happen to prepare for an invasion?

" I tend to agree with you on this, I was living in Northern Calif. in '97 when the levee broke in Yuba County, my father's house had 5 feet of water inside the house. I was amazed at how the community pulled together to help each other. Yuba County is not very wealthy. So yes it does have a lot to do with the people.

The flag was on the roof of the car. Out of high school I pitted for a '69 Road Runner with a 383, had the rear end geared so far down that the top end was about 75 mph, but had such a hole shot we turned low 10s. The only reason I pitted for him was because he beat my Camaro in a grudge race.

Both of mine are teenagers, and watching them is like watching a test being graded. Did I do the right things when they were younger? And they are still learning, and myself also, I have to step back and let them learn on thier own. I am no longer there to catch tehm AS they fail, but to help them get back up AFTER they fail and hopefully learn something in the fall.
