Can't say I was ever hugely fond of Zavvi, but it's still a shame to hear it's going. It's one of those shops that I'd often think "let's try there!" when I'm looking for a particular game or DVD.

Some decent prices down list, though nothing that I've really missed out on. I might grab another copy of Fable II, as mine still hasn't turned up. Maybe a copy of Gears of War 2 and Mirror's Edge as well.

Pure is a steal at that price.

Wipeout HD for £12 is unbelievably good value. I'd easily pay the standard full £40 for a normal game for it, having played it.

I'm not even bothered about Skate 2! I imagine it'll pick up around February/March time though.

It's probably just me, but I'm a little... "meh" about this. How many shops do we really need stocking games for consoles? Besides the games shops you have the supermarkets and the household goods shops (Woolworths (buh bye!)), plus all of the thousands of online stores. When does it stop? I really don't want to walk into my local newsagents in 2010 and be plagued by PS4 games.

No, you're probably right. I'm sure Epic Games (the developers) personally re-coded the game that you got in your box so that it is different to the however million other copies out there. Going by your attitude, Jaybeasts (and by all means correct me here), I'd say that you're doing something wrong.

I was always just fond of multiplayer skirmish matches. I hosted a LAN party once where we had a hack installed for the game which seperated the map into four squares, so that none of the players could interact. After 36 hours of building, we opened up the map and let carnage take place. It was so much fun, and obviously hectic. We actually had to open up the server case and put fans on it to help cool it, due to the amount it had to record (we decided to try and Fraps the whole thing as well, which turned out to be a complete disaster)...

Cool. Did you grab it in a store or on Steam? Perhaps we could sort out some multiplayer when I get my hands on it?

I'll continue with my "RTS games are meant for the PC" opinion, I think. I've not yet played this on the PC, though...
