The interesting thing about hail insurance is that it's cost depends on where you live in the county. Certain areas of the county have a stronger chance for hail damage than other parts. (Based on historical records kept by the insurance companies.)
Years ago, the telephone companies said more collect phone calls were placed on Fathers Day than on any other day of the year.
Of course today, virtually nobody places a collect call.
Good for them. Are they also going to show the effects of Iowa agriculture on the Gulf?
I am guessing they will, or already do.
I wish there was another option, but if you have heard Grassley speak lately, it is becoming obvious that his age is getting the best of him. He should retire.
I wish we had the option to vote for "None of the above". I believe its an option in Nevada.
I'll admit that I have never given 2 hoots about any type of sports, and I'll admit that a successful sports program is a great morale boost for students. But given the choice between a Big Ten sports program or Iowa State's Engineering college, I'll take an Iowa State Engineering education any time.
Of course both would be nice, but I have my priorities.
FootInGrave, I don't want to reduce highway speeds as much as I would like to see a huge push to get Americans to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. If I had my way, we would have a system where the fuel tax we pay at the pump depended on the type of vehicle we drive. Fuel efficient vehicles pay a small tax and gas guzzlers pay a huge tax.
I disagree. I believe KGAN tries to sell anger, fear, and distrust to make a great deal of money. They should report the news, not manufacture it.
I live near this and went over to see it. The concrete cracked apart and the crackes are filled with glass, i.e. melted sand. There were many small pieces of glass laying around on the sidewalk. They were green, about the size of a sugar cube, and crumbled like a sugar cube as well.
The city would be wise to significantly reduce the fines on these camera enforced citations. These cameras probably serve a purpose, but we all make mistakes while driving and the computers are guaranteed to catch these mistakes. If they reduced the fines by two thirds, people could live with it, and not get so paranoid about the cameras.
