The Cold War was not fought and won. The communists who you say lost simply changed tactics, and instead made the unions, the environmentalists, the feminists and other Progressive movements into their proxy organizations which have been slowly frog-boiling us with their socialist policies for decades. We have the biggest socialist program in history with Obamacare, and for the last two months, self-proclaimed communists, anarchists, and just plain crazies have been "occupying", demonstrating, and in many cases just plain rioting in the streets. Day by day we see the fruits of socialism rotting right in front of our eyes, slowly but surely poisoning our society with its pestilence. But hey, it's all in the past right. I mean, I know I just imagined the housing crash that was caused by socialist policies under the guise of "fairness" and "social justice". I must have just imagined the hundreds of thousands of guys out of work as a direct result of these policies and the millions of people who have lost their homes to foreclosure, again because of these policies. Oh, that's right, it was capitalism that was to blame, right, and not socialists like Barney Frank that cause the crash? Silly me, I forgot.
Living in yesteryear, you feckless cretin? Creeping socialism is happening under our noses, and you want to paint people like me as some kind of McCarthy-esque throwback who wants to keep playing at the Cold War? I got news for you, Blah Blah--the Cold War was over by the time I was politically aware of anything. But our past will show us our future, and as they say, those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I most certainly can look back at the mistakes of our forefathers and learn from them, even if you don't see the need. I look at history and observe how empires rise and fall. Hell, I can go on to Youtube and actually watch footage of the atrocities that Marxists, Communists, and National Socialists have committed in the last century alone, all in the name of Progressiveness.
What history has shown us is that we are no different than our ancestors. Our nation is currently falling for the exact same Progressive ideals that drove us into the Great Depression, and then kept us there for a decade longer than we needed to be. We as a nation, right at this very moment, are borrowing more money than we can ever pay back realistically. And our government's solution? Spend even more money we don't have. It's madness.
We even give our borrowed money to other countries in the form of foreign aid, which goes to pay for the lavish mansions and luxury cars of foreign dictators and insane tyrants. Like Rome, we have foreign nationals invading our borders, who pay no taxes, use up our resources at an unsustainable rate, and exhibit no loyalty to our nation, while they undermine our sovereignty from within. Like Rome, we have corruption and incompetence in the Senate; corruption in the entire culture of government. Our leaders are selfish, power-hungry, and out of touch. Like Rome, we have a stifling government that limits growth and freedom and creates only resentment and anger among the citizenry. Like Rome, we're running out of time.
Rome fell. And when it fell, it fell quickly.
We are likely to do the same unless we learn from the mistakes of our predecessors. But we are not learning. In fact, we are making those very same mistakes right now, when what we need to be doing is mapping a new course.
I want to weep for the future. I really do.
Oh, yeah, and Blah Blah--nice move with bringing out the same old tired charge of so-called conservative racism. Good lord, can't you Progressives ever come up with any new shaming language? Because what you use now is cliche, worn-out, and was never even true. The worst racists invariably turn out to be on the left; you can count on Democrat racism like you can count on Slick Willy's infidelity. *cough* Robert Byrd *cough*.
So do me a favor and stow your race-baiting bile, take off the dunce cap, and come up with a decent set of arguments, or GTFO.
