Not to put too fine a point on it, but parody isn't "satire set to someone else's IP", and isn't necessarily copyright infringement. Parody can count as "fair use" with or without the author's permission - see Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music Inc. (aka 2LiveCrew v. Orbison).

Just saying.

In defense of all the lawyers out there who actually believe that the written word means something and that conservative values are worth fighting for (all 8 of us), don't forget that 35 of the 55 Founding Fathers were lawyers. The problem is not the profession. I wish everyone had the time and ability to go through law school; it provides really useful training. The problem has more to do with the ideas influencing what gets written.

Give 'em hell, Pete, Chuck, and Brad!

Professor Wolfram, as a former student of yours, it's good to see your insight and influence spreading beyond the 'Dale.

You've hit the nail on the head here. This bill not only represents an historic expansion of government control, but a tidal shift in the very meaning of government. Our President and left-of-the-aisle representatives have disregarded their constituents and American heritage. They have lied about this disregard in breathtaking fashion. They have boldly promised transparency and transparently reneged on those promises. These are the markings of tyranny, not representation.
