I was in my office up in Green Bay when it happened and one of my coworkers came in and said it went through the sky southwest of us. He was pretty freaked out by it.

Winning and a good competitive teams are also needed to put fannies in the seats also which is really the heart of the matter here. With actual attendance at CHA around 5,000, keeping Lickliter would have been economic suicide for the Athletic Department. You can't have your #2 revenue sport only filling 1/3 of its' seats. Plus, his coaching style does not work in the Big Ten and many of the players he has brought in are not up to par with talent at the other schools in the conference. Once you are down by ten points, comebacks are pretty much impossible as witnessed late in the year.

First, I want Lickliter gone. However, a high profile coach isn't a necessity. The same year Iowa hired Alford, Wisconsin hired Bo Ryan who was a choice from left field up here. Now Bo is adored up here. What Iowa needs is a coach with some charisma and an offense that will keep the fans in the stands involved. We're one minute into the game and we're down three, we haven't scored and Lickliter's called a timeout. 5-0 two minutes in. Same old story.

The one hit I always love to watch was Tim Dwight's hit against Arizona in 1996. The shot drew a flag due to the now gone and unlamented 'halo rule'. Go to youtube and check out 'Tim Dwight (Human Missile).

Here's a wild idea, expand to fourteen teams. Bring in Mizzou, and two of these three, Rutgers, Pitt and Syracuse. If Notre Dame changes its' mind and wants in, then bring in all four of the previously mentioned schools, divide the league into two eight team divisions.
Big 14 North: Minn, Wis, Mich, MSU, Penn St, SU, Pitt,
Big 14 South: Mizzou, Ill, NW, Ind, Purdue, Ohio St,Iowa, Rutgers
Big 16 North: Minn, Wis, Mich, MSU, PSU, Pitt, SU, Rutgers
Big 16 South: Iowa, Mizzou, Ill, NW, Ind, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ohio St.

I'll go with Iowa, Ohio St., Northwestern and Wisconsin winning, while Penn St., Michigan St., and Minnesota lose.
The ACC looked very weak in non-conference play that's why I favor Iowa and Wisconsin. Ohio St. gets my nod in the Rose Bowl because I think Terelle Pryor has matured as a QB. Northwestern over Auburn because the Wildcats were playing maybe the best football in the Big Ten at the end of the year.
This just in, Michigan State is trying to see if Bubba Smith, George Webster or Gene Washington have any eligibility left. Penn St. still hasn't beaten anybody substantial so far so I go with LSU. Iowa State wins 4 to 2 over Minny on a last minute safety after both teams earlier snap balls out of their own end zones.

I believe the "unidentified man" is Bump Elliott, who was an assistant to Evy at that time.

One thing to note is that all three of Stanzi's pick sixes have come when he is rolling to his right and tries to throw toward the boundary. By coincidence he has also been going toward the north end of Kinnick when he's done this. Saturday night he almost had two other disastrous picks when rolling to his right in the third quarter except for the fact Moeaki bailed him out by turning into a defensive back and knocking the ball away from the Michigan DB and another time when he broke every rule of QB play by throwing across his body toward the middle of the field. Unless his receiver is absolutely lonely, maybe he better take off and run.
