The Bosnians weren't exactly blameless on their side. Christians weren't, and still aren't, burning down their own churches, etc.

Bonus points, John, for giving Maximum Risk it's propers. I'm happy that JCVD is onboard for Expendables 2. Its too bad that the action movie genre died in the USA around 1996.

This should surprise no one. The left have been successful at convincing everyone in their camp to buy into the identity politics that keep them in power and, thus, cannot tolerate anyone who defies the stereotypes that have they themselves have created to keep their hold over Blacks, gays, the poor, etc. Wander off the reservation and prepare to catch some arrows.

Quantum of Solace was misunderstood, I believe. Watch it again as a revenge flick and it might click better. For me the movie makes much more sense as a necessary bridge from James being a broken hearted assassin to the "no one will ever get close again" super spy that we all know he becomes.

Cain is an important voice and even if he doesn't get the nomination his strong running will have a beneficial side effect. The knives will come out from the left and they will be exposed for the sincere racists that they are. They will denigrate his message, his intelligence, and his character. They will won't be able to help themselves because he shatters their prejudiced view of what a black man should be. Godspeed, Mr. Cain. You have an honesty to your message that is rallying people to your side.

Palin mentioned in the same breath as Churchill and Reagan?!?!?!?! Churchill saved Western Civilization and Reagan protected it from it's greatest threat after Fascism. This is insanity. That two absolute giants of the previous century are being mentioned in the same breath as Palin is beyond any reasonable jump of association.

I had great hopes for her when she first burst on the scene. She was energetic, personable, exciting. Everything that the guy on on top of the ticket was not. Then McCain's minions took her away for reeducation and she has never been the same. After the campaign she had a choice to make. Did she want to continue to bolster her bonafides and become a powerhouse political train (i.e. stay governor or run against McClusky) OR did she want to ride the wave of her new found fame? She chose the latter. She is now a celebrity. She is not a serious candidate for POTUS. She has more credibility than The Donald but they are manning an oar in the same boat.

Obama is an abomination that must be stopped. Replacing him with someone who is as unserious as he would be the height of imprudence.

Thanks.

I think the main reason that people really like the film is that movies like Taken don't get made anymore. It was such a shock to see a straight ahead action film that people flocked to it like water in a desert (or something like that). It is 90min of ass-kicking. Harry Brown is way more heavy than that and doesn't leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Now if someone could just make a decent war picture I'd be happy.

Harry Brown was a totally different kind of film. It was attempting to shine a light on the nihilism of Britain's poor and the impediments to decent people doing anything about their crappy situation. It's bleak vision was just reinforced by the recent violence. It wasn't an action movie it was a statement.

Taken is an action movie. Somebody takes daddy's girl. Daddy gets mad. Daddy kills everyone who gets in his way. Daddy gets daughter back. No hemming and hawing. No "what do I do i don't want to kill baddies" nonsense. Simple, straightforward, and totally badass.
