Boulder airport has lots of glider tows. A plane towing a glider puts on a lot of power, way more than for just itself. Lots of noise.
Is Boulder airport of interest? Are there complaints stemming from glider tows? Have you ever heard a glider tow?

I re-edit. I am not itching for a fight, but seeking an answer. Is the concern with airport noise as a whole or just something specific in Longmont?

I live in SE Longmont, far from Vance Brand airport. There's an odd thing that happens here with helicopters that seem to pause over this area before rocketing Denver bound. I've talked to a Flight for Life air nurse and now understand what is happening. It's not going to change, and it is a safety reason. So they hover and I get an earful. I've never complained and I'm not complaining now. They are close enough for me to read tail numbers, but I am not writing them down.

Ms. Gibbs is complaining about one specific flyer, not a practice. I wonder what she would do if several times a day there was a helicopter over her home? Would she ask ER docs to curtail the number of rescue flights; ask the hospitals to move to a location that keeps her home out of the flightline?

Ridiculous stuff, but let's just compare. The attack is on Mile Hi Skydiving, not air travel. CQS was aimed at MHS. Now it seems that Ms. Gibbs would like to make the complaint all inclusive. But that's not new.

Kim Gibbs want the closure of Vance Brand Airport, which was known to the Longmont city council long ago. Ms. Gibbs lives very close to Boulder Airport, which hosts skydiving, hi-trottle glider tows, and lots of light planes. She's not interested in that airport, but in Vance Brand.
Can anyone figure out why? Is it possible that Ms. Gibbs has an axe to grind in Longmont unrelated to this mess that she is causing?

Mistakenly, you believe that members of congress can read. No soup for you.

There is no knowing that she didn't try to gain purchase on her slide with an ice axe.
Look at the time of year. It's hard to stop a slush fall.
Very sad, especially for her climbing partner.

This action opens the door for Consulting Fees from special friends.
Before the 'right sizing' there were no funds for a study. Now that its in place and causing woes, it is time for a study and everyone will vote for the expenditure. - because there is a reason now to study it.

Check out the Boulder website where input is asked for. There's no choice for "worst idea ever", but lots of choices for "It's wonderful, can use improvement".
When the Transportation Advisory Board says in needs input, it means positive input from friendly smiling faces. All other 'input' is disregarded.

the casual commuter
You see that is the focus of the Trust Fund council. Only some people actually need to go to work. The casual commuters (aka council members) want you to pattern after their lives. If you didn't manage your inheritance well, then you need to go to work. Work is punishment, and driving to work needs a spanking. Cycling to work is the best that slaves can hope for, but the route will be difficult and painful.
If mom and dad gave you a five dollar allowance and you squandered it, serves you right to suffer.

This gal in the photo was quoted in the original story as saying she detoured three blocks off her normal route to see the new lanes. So, if she hadn't detoured, what would the picture show?
And then again, why is DC showing the same photo again? How about the photos of jam packed with cars backed up to Valmont?
