Ron Edmondson : Are Church Goers Fatter than Average?

It's a mixed bag at our church too. But we have great examples on our staff. (Our senior pastor is Craig Groeschel. You should SEE the guns on that guy!)

Maurilio Amorim : The Skinny Tie is Back!

Chris, you are unbelievably cool. Do the skinny tie and vest with untucked shirt. (You're thinking: Who is this person whom I don't know from Adam's dog? Answer: Just a guy whose family really dug your preaching when you were at LifeChurch and wish they could see you preach again.) Really!

Thanks, Kellyn. Have to go back to work now. Will pray as I work. UPDATE: I'm excited for you, Kellyn. Praying for clearheadedness and peace, both as you prepare for and as you take your test. Please let us know how it turns out. When will you know the results?

Ripe for Harvest : He had me on "What if...?"

Ah... I get it. Yes, it was highly counter-intuitive and I guess that was the point. We have to be willing, even eager, to go anywhere he might lead before we can hear where he's leading us. I've been tremendously affected the last few weeks reading The Blessed Life by Robert Morris. Have you read it?

Yes, you do, my friend! It's funny, Rick, when I was writing the post I totally didn't think of the freelance side of things, only the employee-employer side. Father, I thank you for building Rick's business. I thank you for Jonathan coming alongside his dad during these days and helping. Please help both these men find favor with clients (and schools and mission boards and...). You clearly have your hand on their lives and on the whole family. Thank you for being faithful, Lord!

Thanks, Jason. Curious... What about the process appears counter-intuitive to you?

Ron Edmondson : Friday Discussion: Are You a Pet Lover...or Not?

I'm so sorry, Amy. Oreo sounds like a very special cat. I know that God cares about your hurt, and he understands. I think he also cares about Oreo. We recently lost Casey--the very first cat who ever loved me (not a great accomplishment--he loved everyone). It was hard letting him go, but God has been so kind and gentle with us and that has helped. God will comfort you too, and Oreo as well. Bless you, Amy, you and your whole family. May you experience more of Christ's love this year than you ever have before!

I am convinced that many people who love cats do so because—may we be honest here?—if your cat loves you, you've really accomplished something.
