As an aside, I was listening to a bit on NPR about the Tesla Roadster--0 - 60 in 3.9 seconds. Not bad for an electric car!

It appears to me that this scenario is statistically favoring a slight Democratic pickup. What are the odds, and the historical precedents, for one party gaining in congress THREE times in a row?

I just have a quick question, why did two states vote for both of their senate seats this year (2008). Doesn't that skew the whole idea of a statewide race?

DemConWatch : For posterity's sake...

Pawlenty is a rather rational republican. I am torn between wanting Palin to take charge of the republican party and keep them from regaining power for another god only knows how long, and pawlenty taking charge and leading the GOP back towards the folds of reason and reality. The thing is, I know that know matter what, history shows that sooner or later power will swing back their way, and I would feel better knowing that when it does that we don't have to put up with the insanity of the far right.

I count 7 TL republicans and 9 TL republicans. Does that put us dems at a disadvantage because we have more open seats to defend? I don't know enough about gubernatorial races to know.

DemConWatch : The Future of Sarah Palin

Well, I happen to respect the right for all of God's creatures to live more then the right of people to hunt. Plug me into the minority if you want, I don't mind that, but at least if you are going to attack someone do so with a half way credible argument. BTW, if your idea of hunting is shooting wolves out of a helicopter, then YOU my friend just might be in the minority.

DemConWatch : The Future of Sarah Palin

I disagree. I think that she is the future of the parties further destruction and collapse in on itself. She is beloved, idol-worshiped almost, by a huge faction of the hard line social conservatives, and she is not going away. I think that there is going to be a schism in the GOP and the part that wants to go farther right (god forbid!) is going to rally around her and go to all out war with the part that wants to pull their head out forth from their ass and go to the middle. I also agree, there is nothing likable about sarah palin to me.

I really happen to think that in this case. he has to go. its not so much that TLB supported McCain, its that he viciously attacked Obama, said horrible things at the republicans convention of all places about the democrats standard bearer. How could he possible stay after that?
