I think businesses are going to have to incorporate religiosity into there business name if they want to take a stand like this. Much like those dating services that call themselves "Christian Dating" or "Jewish Singles." I think, and I'm not a lawyer, that they would stand a better chance at picking and choosing who'll they will hire out to.
In cases like this, when the system doesn't deliver justice, it is incumbent upon the men of Australia to see it through.
Rest In Peace, dear Andrew.
Gervais is a funny guy. Brilliant in fact. But, his path as of late is one that is well worn. How many times have I (we) witnessed a very funny guy hit a point of fame and then suddenly he wants to be part of the good looking crowd. The self loathing of a clown is always interesting to watch. From Jerry Lewis to Eddie Murphy and right up to the latest crop of funny fat guys who have sculpted themselves into something that they will never be - a leading man. Guaranteed that he will come out with a "serious" movie...and it will be laughable but not in the way he's used to.
Your point regarding the inference that Mapplethorpe is a pedophile is well taken and should be addressed but if you truly believe the journalistic standards here are as anemic as you say, why then do you continue to read BH? Is it because you'll always have some contrary opinion and therefore be the attention getter? I enjoy reading a counterpoint but not always from the same poster because it leads me to take them less seriously and they (you) are then regarded as a troll.
To paraphrase Richard Pryor, it's not often that you meet an old fool because, generally, fools don't live to be old.
If that same scene had been on "Rawhide" the ass whoopin' would've gone the other way.
As an American of Italian descent, I think they should ban any screening of Marx Brothers movies. Though I could be persuaded to change my mind for a scoop of 'tootsie frootsie ice-a-cream'.
I feel like I lost a funny uncle. Buon' Anema, Zio.
Any chance Matthews misunderstood the sign "whites only"? He was, afterall, in a laundrymat!
