Wow, thanks. I can't tell you how much it means to us that you read all of our previous comics, dutifully read three new ones each week and provided an objective comparison of all of that material to this guest strip.

People like you arethe very reason we do this. Keep reading, true believer. We'll keep writing.

One love.

The Crooked Gremlins : And I-EEEE-I

I will say this about alcohol and movies: I the first time I saw "Spanglish," I was drunk off my ass and started writing an article about how Adam Sandler was an acting genius and the next revolution in creative filmmaking. The lesson here? Friends don't let friends drink and review. Steve the Pirate was played by Alan Tudyk of "Firefly" fame and "Dollhouse" shame. He does not make an appearance in "Avatar." Obviously, some of the bad-assery is truly bad-ass. I think the visual impact of the film increases the dramatic highlights even more, making them seem even bad-ass-ier. But that doesn't change the fact that the writing is poor in some very, very conspicuous places.

The Crooked Gremlins : Assassin's Bane

Let me extend the comment about the game being poorly designed. There are many, many things I like about this game. But when I'm trying to execute an action that my character is perfectly capable of doing and the interface provided by the game prevents me from doing it, that is extremely frustrating and an example of bad design. For instance, the targeting system in this game is a fucking joke. It's not predictable and you can't easily switch between targets. In some later missions, extreme precision is called for and you're penalized for something that the game doesn't do well. If they couldn't figure out a good targeting system, that's fine. But don't punish me with a mission that requires something you failed to provide. It makes me feel helpless, when what I want to feel like is a badass assassin. And there are notable times throughout the game when that's exactly what you feel like. And that experience has no parallel in any other game I've played (except for the first one). So absolutely pick it up, but just like in Mirror's Edge be prepared to die a lot due to things that you are going to find very frustrating. Also, if you do buy it, please use the links to the right. We get a small cut, and you get your game delivered in a timely fashion. This goes for pre-orders, as well.
