Venezuela's science and technology minister has resigned after his brother became embroiled in a corruption scandal involving several local banks.
Jesse Chacon's brother Arne, who is the president of Banco Real, was arrested as part of an investigation into banking irregularities.

I'm a little cut that I'm not allowed to discuss Chavez's best international friends and their countries failures to compare to the failed mess here, but it's perfectly OK to bring up Chavez's enemies in defense of any criticism made to the big man and his cronies say or do even if it's at ends with anything they've said or done previously.
Oh well, that's socialism for you, one set of rules for the majority and whatever they damn well please for themselves.

It must be absolutely awesome to not be accountable for absolutely anything that's your job to take care of. So the moral of the story is that in Venezuela numbers now do in fact lie!

I'm pretty sure noone is allowed to buy land up there anymore, unless of course you have some serious cash and connections.
At least I'd be able to get away from the car alarms and horns for a while if I was on the La Guaira side. Last time I went camping in the Avila we could still hear the alarms and honking and reggeton.
This NED fund stuff is starting to sound attractive...
