I don't see why this is an issue, it's a goddamned children's story. Isn't their a version of this story in this Bible anyway? You know...building a house on sand etc... Why don't you attack the source you crazy person. I don't want to say this is a leftist thing because well it isn't. She might be leftist, but this idea is just ridiculously sensitive. I know plenty of people on the left who would laugh at loud with derision at this and for good reason. She's a kook. The world will move on though and we'll leave behind this nonsense, just as we'll probably leave behind social conservativism and leftist economics...in the next decade I predict the rise of libertarians... :)
This was good until you plaid the Faith and God card. I don't have Faith in Conservative principles, I KNOW they work, through logical deduction and practical demonstration. Secondly I don't think God has anything to do with this. You know what makes an argument sound moronic? By tacking on God-Said-So on the end, many Conservatives might consider this the final word on the issue but believe me, some of us Conservative/Libertarian/Objectivist types who are Atheistic, or at least Deistic, squirm very uncomfortably when we nod agreement to something like that. It's tantamount to many, myself included, to saying we have no REAL argument for these principles, so God will do, YHWH is the final answer anyway... It might be fine for personal conviction but if you want to do what you say you do, which is convince the America public that economic conservative principles are viable and moral then you need to de-limit the God stuff to private conversations because to many people in the modern age it's as meaningless as saying the Great Turtle; Maturin gives me his word that Conservative-ideas are right. Anyway I don't want to slam the post because it's good, I am a Psychologist and so I can see this was well thought out, and also I don't want to slam Christian Conservatives, you guys are the backbone of the movement by all accounts, I just want to point out that it's just not the way to convert.
I thought progressives where all about sacrifice? And as an Objectivist I must say rationally defined self interest - I.E/ Personal happiness - IS the greater good.
One of my favourite books and one of my favourite films. It has a powerful message of how to live ones life as a rational and independent individual.
I am a UK Citizen and I agree with this videos critique of the UK NHS. It does provide basic care quite well. But hospitals are over-crowded and understaffed, underfunded and under-equipped. Sometimes you can be on a list for months, 8-10 sometimes, to see a specialist. It took me 4 months to get a routine operation on my foot, not life threatening, but painful whilst I was waiting. It happened again so I went private - it was done in two weeks. Enough said I think.
I love the book and I love the movie. Excellent.
