The commenters are missing a couple of points. First, the consequences of the damage done to California won't be limited to Calilfornia, it will drag down the entire national economy. Secondly, much of the damage was done not by Californians but by the federal government. It wasn't California that turned off the water in the Central Valley, it was the feds. Schadenfreude should be kept to a minimum.
Although I don't question the "right" of anyone to build a structure to be used for a lawful purpose, I am one of the apparently tiny minority of extremists who question whether the promotion of islam through jihad, stealthy or open, should be considered a lawful purpose. Why should we supinely accept that a "religion" that includes among its doctrines polygamy, execution of apostates and the ultimate subjection and humiliation of all kuffars among other horrors, qualifies for protection under the exercise clause of the First Amendment, any more than the Church of Latter Day Saints did before it abandoned its doctrinal adherence to polygamy?.
He is not dead, he is just resting, watching old Monty Python skits.
I don't mind. In fact, dear writer, I'd encourage you to identify, dissect and demolish every one of the countless imbecilities in the President's Cairo speech.
A sharp rebuke is long overdue.
At least he had the decency to use a "sharp edged" weapon.
Robert Ferrigno has written a couple of novels, "Prayers for the Assassin", and "Sins of the Assassin" both of which deal, with somewhat mixed success, with life in a partly islamicized United States. The first book in particular has some very well conceived and well written sections. Both could easily be made into movies.
I suppose the post-"election" events in the streets of Teheran are examples of the "robust debate" our president finds so encouraging.
It is a pretty good rule of thumb that the predictable consequences of political acts, especially when they are the result of much deliberation and planning, are also the intended ones. The predictable consequences of the speech are to strengthen Islam, weaken the United States and the rest of the non-muslim world and make Israel defenseless.
Whatever meets with TaRa's approval is harmful to the non-muslim world.
