Thompson - Thank you, I'm glad you get my point., well sort of anyway The bible is not the word of God. It was written by imperfect men, not God. This is precisely why I have a problem with people who pick and choose quotations from it in order to justify their agendas, whether it be slavery in the past, or discrimination against our gay brothers and sisters in the present. God is love and love is the only true reality, the rest is all an illusion manifested by man.

I always find it interesting how bible thumpers manage to pick and choose quotations from the bible tlike it's an a la carte menu in order to support their personal prejudices and fears, but somehow see fit to overlook some of the other scary and outright inhumane quotations. I invite YOU to read Leviticus 20:10, Leviticus 25:44 - 45, and Exodus 21:20 - 21. These passages promote slavery and the beating of slaves, and the execution of adulterers and those who curse their parents. Those are just a few tidbits to start with - trust me there are many more. If you truly believe the bible to be the word of God then accept all of it, not just what happens to fit your homophobic agenda!

So you've never heard of a "gay animal"? There are many published studies available on homosexuality in animals. But my guess is that you prefer visual information over written information so I've attached the link to a video clip produced by National Geographic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RlTAyNI8WE
By the way - who were the "four fathers" that you mentioned and what exactly were their beliefs? LOL

Radar - you are completely missing the point but I'm not at all surprised. People like you use the bible as an a la carte menu, picking and choosing quotations that fit their agenda and ignoring the rest. If you truly believe that the bible is the word of God then accept all of it! If you stand by your belief hat homosexuality is immoral because of a quotation in the bible then you must also believe in its promotion of slave ownership and the punishment of slaves, selling daughters into slavery, and also executing people for adultery, working on the Sabbath, or cursing their parents.

Dude, Since you're quoting the bible let me direct your attention to Exodus 21:20 - 21 which states, "If a man beats his male or female slave and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is NOT to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. In addition, Leviticus 25:44 - 45 states, "Your male and female slaves are to come from nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property." Do you believe these words to be true as well, or do you just pick and choose bible quotations that happen to align with your fears and homophobic beliefs?

The U.S. abolished slavery with the 13 Amendment to the Constitution in spite of the fact that slavery is promoted in the bible. I hope our government will have the wisdom and decency to provide equal rights to our gay brothers and sisters, including the right to openly serve in our armed forces.
